ACCA, the nation’s largest association of indoor environmental systems
professionals, is seeking nominations for its Contractors of the Year
awards program. The application for the 2013 program is available now on
ACCA’s website, and is similar to last year’s to make it easy for
contractors to nominate themselves for their innovative business
practices.
“We feel like starting the application process earlier and keeping it
similar to previous versions will make it easier for contractors to
apply for the award,” says Melissa Broadus, director of communications
for ACCA. “The earlier start will also allow those chosen as finalist
more time to gather and submit additional information that is needed to
create the final judging packets.”
The ACCA Contractors of the Year awards program also provides ACCA
members with a unique marketing opportunity for their businesses. “Not
only will the winning contractors be honored at the ACCA Annual
Conference by their peers, but this is a great opportunity for them to
tout their company’s accomplishments and show that they are recognized
leaders in the industry to their customers.”
Applications for the program will be accepted until September 21, 2012.
Once the nomination deadline has passed, all Contractors of the Year
nominees will be evaluated and six finalists will be selected—three
residential finalists and three commercial finalists. Those finalists
will be contacted to create informational profiles for inclusion in the
official judging packet.
These profiles will describe the company, as well as the unique
aspects of the business. The official judging packets, including the six
write-ups, will be judged by a panel of ACCA’s past chairmen. The
winners—one residential, one commercial—will be recognized on stage at
the annual ACCA conference and will be profiled in the print and
electronic versions of IE3 magazine.
