This plain-English translation makes it easier for a
first-timer to understand. It reads like a good novel. The stories are
glorious. By following the plan of a brief reading each day (based on
the date) you will read all of the Old Testament, the New Testament,
and the Psalms over the course of one year. It takes about 15 minutes a
day to get it done. There's something about the methodical pursuit that
is incredibly calming. When I did it for the first time I read in the
morning, when I first awoke. It made me feel peaceful during the entire
day. When I read it the second time, I did it just before falling
asleep. I slept better. Try it either way and you'll see what I mean.
All those day-to-day worries seem less important. You'll see.
