Summer flooding leads to high efficiency
This is the work of Bob Gagnon. The boiler is 95% efficient, and qualifies for the Federal Tax Credit of $150.
High Efficiency Boiler Sure to Lower Homeowner’s Gas Bills
Lowell, MA – The 2006 summer flooding in eastern Massachusetts gave homeowner John Patino-Bueno no choice but to replace his existing boiler. His existing system was a cast-iron hot water boiler with an annual efficiency rating (AFUE) of 80 percent. Mr. Patino-Bueno was aware of the rising cost of gas, so he knew he wanted high efficiency in his next unit.
Looking for expertise, John hired Bob Gagnon Plumbing & Heating to do the boiler replacement and expressed his wish to install a high efficiency boiler. Bob has been installing Utica Boilers for over 10 years and recommended the Utica UB95M boiler because of its reliability, quality construction and fuel savings. The UB95M has an AFUE of 95 percent, which qualifies for the Federal Tax Credit of $150.
The Utica UB95M boiler is a cast aluminum modulating condensing boiler. The modulation feature allows the boiler to change its heat output relative to actual current load requirements. Modulating boiler applications are best for larger homes with many or small zones. In these applications, the boiler will modulate to a lower output versus cycling on and off when the smaller zones call for heat, reducing temperature swings and maximizing comfort.
John took Bob’s recommendation and had the UB95M boiler installed. He has since had greater comfort in his home and has commented that the boiler is so quiet he can hardly hear it. John is awaiting his next month’s utility bill to see how much he’ll be saving from his purchase decision, which he surmises will be a great deal.
