Water storage tank for hot water boiler
Is this a good idea?? I am getting a mix of opinions, mostly that a water storage tank is a waste of money and energy. I have an old Climatrol with 6 large cast iron sleves that I want to replace. It must hold at least 30 gallons of water in the boiler itself. What if I create a separate tank that will be attached to a new hydronic boiler, keep this water temp at 140 degrees, then pump water to the radiators right from the tank as needed? Any opinions? -
Seems to me...
that you will lose heat from that storage tank -- no matter how good your insulation -- and that you will gain very little in terms of response time. So why bother?Jamie

multifunctional buffer tank
I like the idea of a buffer tank for hydraulic separation dirt and air separation there are many reasons and applications to consider the proper use of a buffer tank.
