Really?
I think I am going to install a new system this summer in my home. It is going to be radiant panels with thermostatic valves on a home run system. The wholesaler said we can achieve a 40degree delta t which would keep the boiler condensing. My question is if the system is on a constant circ off of outdoor reset is it really going to be more efficient. I think the boiler would run constantly almost like my current boiler with a tank-less. Am I missing something? I have not got the drawings or piping diagrams just thinking out loud. BTW the boiler will be a Triangle Tube Solo and a TT indirect. Any input would be great. -
hmm.
40 degree dt on a radiant floor system would seem pretty high. Never tried it though.
the difference between this and your tankless is "outdoor reset". the triangle tube will only maintain what it needs which, if you are designed properly, should be a pretty low water temp most of the time instead of the 150-200 most tankless coil boilers are set to.NRT.Rob -
40 Degree Delta-T
I'd be interested in the heat loss, size of the panel rads and design heating curve temp."The bitter taste of a poor installation remains much longer than the sweet taste of the lowest price." -
sorry
I thought you meant radiant floor. with panel rads I would have no problem with a 40 dt, however I do believe that exceeds triangle tube's recommendation of a maximum 30 dt across the boiler.NRT.Rob -
Radiant Panels
I would assume Radiant panels to be of the radiant Floor, wall, or ceiling type.
"Panel rads" to be stated as such....So which is it?

Panel rads, Radiant panels whatever
Panel Rads is what I meant. Everyone I talk to it about does the same thing. Then I talk to someone else and they will say the other. -
If You Are Going to Try
For a 40 degree delta-t I would strongly encourage you do use a hydro separator and not pri/sec. The boiler can then do it's thing and you can do whatever you want on the system side."The bitter taste of a poor installation remains much longer than the sweet taste of the lowest price."
