    Steam furnace running when set to Off

    Hello,
    I have a steam heat furnace that when it is set to off it still runs getting up to 75.  And when the temp is set to say 60 it will be 70 in the house.
    Any ideas?

    Is the thermostat

    a mercury bulb thermostat? If it is it may be out of level. Or it may be out of calibration.

    By the way it is not a furnace it is a boiler.
