weil series580 steamer 2 stage oil burner?
Was wondering if there is a 2 stage burner for a weil 580 ,weil site does not show that there is one avaiable for this boiler ,i am wonder if any one knows what manafature makes one that will work on a 580.it would be nice to have on this size boiler to stop short cyling plus there is a loop hot water cast iron baseboard off the botton of the boiler which i know short cyles the boiler when it is the only thing calling. Thanks for any info .Peace and good luck clammy -
No
580 is only single stageCost is what you spend , value is what you get. -
had also seem at weil site
Thanks for the confromation ,but i thought maybe someone had some infromation about a 2 stage unit it really stinks that there is not 2 stage burner for these light commerical boilers until you get to the 680 and above .i would think that there is a market for 2 stage burners for boilers in this size it would make alot of sense but i guess the big burner co see no point to it but i personally see it as a smart move but then again i have seen so many larger boiler with 2 stage burner that where neither set up correctly or had not had any automatic controls to take advantage of the burner and possible fuel savings with the price of all types of fuel increasing i see it as penny wise and dollar foolish but i also realize that most that where not set up to take advantage of the 2 stage where left with just a switch(hi low) mainly either because the installer had know idea how to install controls to take advantage of it and neither did the supply house and the boiler manafatures kinda leave it all in a gray area ,what a crying damn shame .Peace and good luck clammy -
It is a shame
The thing is I see so many not set right even on the larger ones I think they do not want to keep their tech support any busier than it is. If the 580 and smaller had 2 stage it would be ten times more burners to be installed wrong. I know if anyone has a 2 stage that would work I have several people who could use them.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get. -
Guys, you need to call HeatWise
and speak to Gotham Kamath or his father Dr. Bola Kamath. They do have such a 2-stage oil burner, it has passed UL and is ready to produce. It should be able to handle a pressure-fired boiler like the W-M 80 with no problem. I believe high-fire on this one tops out at 4 GPH, but that shouldn't really affect the boiler's operation. Go here:

Then choose the Pioneer 2 page. For some reason, the link doesn't work when I put it into this post directly.
