Gas Training on the ROAD in WOBURN, MA
Presents Timmie McElwain
Three seminars being offered are Circuitry & Troubleshooting, Electric Ignition Systems and Advanced Electric Ignition Systems. A breakdown of those three seminars is listed below.
CIRCUITRY AND TROUBLESHOOTING
This is a course for the new service technician. The technician may or may not have had some technical school training. It is also a good course for the technician who needs some help with electrical circuitry. The course will include some basic electricity. It will start out with simple circuits and finish with circuits found on conventional boilers and furnaces. Those typically with standing pilots. It does not include any electric ignition systems or high efficiency equipment. There can be an emphasis on forced hot air or hydronics, depending on the requirements of the trainees. The course includes:
PARTS OF AN ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT
THERMAL ELECTRICITY & ELECTROMAGNETISM
COMPONENTS AND SYMBOLS
ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS AND DIAGRAMS
CONTROL CENTERS
TEST EQUIPMENT
INTRODUCTION TO HOUSE HEATING
Thermostats Relays
Gas Valves Transformers
Warm Air Systems Troubleshooting
Hot Water Systems
ELECTRIC IGNITION SYSTEMS
This course covers all the electric ignition systems in use today on boilers and furnaces. This course will help the service technician to be able to service just about any of the complex boilers and furnaces in the field today. This eliminates the need to take a course on every piece of equipment out today. The course includes:
INTERMITTENT IGNITION DEVICES
FLAME CONDUCTIVITY
WHITE RODGERS CYCLE PILOT
FLAME RECTIFICATION
HONEYWELL SYSTEMS
ROBERTSHAW SYSTEMS
FENWAL SYSTEMS
DIRECT SPARK IGNITION
HOT SURFACE IGNITTION
CONTROL REPLACEMENT
ADVANCED ELECTRIC IGNITION SYSTEMS
This is a continuation of Electric Ignition Systems course. It is suggested that both courses be taken. The course includes:
SMARTVALVE™
ELECTRONIC FAN TIMERS
INTEGRATED BOILER & FURNACE CONTROLS
POWER VENTED EQUIPMENT
VENT DAMPERS
