I went to look at a Buderas boiler and indirect today. The call was for the relief valve discharging, after the normal process of elimination, I found it to be the indirect has a leaking coil and it is backfeeding the boiler. This happens to be an installation where the boiler is located on top of the indirect with virtually no room on either side or the back. My question is, can the coil be removed from the cleanout access panel and changed, or do I have to remove the boiler and indirect and change the tank?

Changeout
The coil is not removable. You'll have to remove the boiler from the top of the tank and replace the indirect. The tanks do have a limited warranty, and depending upon the age there may be some compensation on the pro-rated age of tank. Buderus does not pay any labor costs.
