Buderus: With or Without Logamatic? A Little help here?

We're replacing a Utica gas fired boiler with a Buderus G124X.  I'm trying to decide if the Logamatic will pay for itself, or if it is an unnecessary complication.  We tend to keep our house in the low 60s during the day (Philadelphia area) and about 55 during the overnight.
THE 124X is about 85% efficient; literature says the logamatic increases effic 10% to 30%.  It doesn't seem possible.  Plus, if the logamatic fails, are repairs more costly or more frewquent than with the G124X alone?
    Not sure how to proceed.
    Thanks for your help.

    The Logamatic

will give you sophisticated control of your system and yes it will increase the overall efficiency of the boiler and system. It allows the installer to dial in the settings for the higher efficiency and automatic control of the system.

Yes if there are failures or problems the more sophisticated electronic controls can add  up to costly repairs.

Talk to your installer and have him show you the advantages and dis advantages of the system with and without the Logamatic.

    one of the advantages

of the Buderus si it's low return water temp. capabilities. Without the Logamatic you can't take advantage of this. There's lots of CI boilers out there that are 85% eff. for less $.
