    Tank gauge

Hello!  I have dual tanks installed.  I have a question about the fill gauge.  It always read 1/4 of a tank. It works when I fill it to the 550 gallons. But when it gets close to empty it stays on a 1/4.  Do you have an answer why this would

    Tank Gauge:

If the tanks are tied together, the level should be the same in both tanks. Fluids seek their own levels. If the gauge doesn't go below 1/4 when it is lower, the guage must be bad. If there is a unused hole in the tank, put in a straight gauge and use that one.
Is it an upright 275 gallon tank?
Is it the correct gauge for the application? Next time the tank is low, unscrew the gauge cap and pull the the rod up and down. Does it go up and down easily? Does it hit the bottom of the stop?

    1/4

Are you saying it won't go lower than 1/4?  The float could be hitting the side of the tank. It could be a number of things. Float hitting the side of the tank Sludge buildup that the float is hitting, a bad gauge. Is the crossover line clear on the bottom of the tanks?
