Out of oil,
and no heat. My friend was out of oil, again. He has a 55gal drum ,fills it with diesel and uses a "pony pump" to transfer the oil into the house tank . How safe is that ? -
Is this safe:
I think you know the answer to this. It is answered with one word that only has two letters.
I'm sure that the person "Don't want no Gub'ment tellin' me what do do in my own home".
As long as it doesn't adversly affect someone else.
Does he have pennies in the fuse boxes?
Or, like the person I saw that had his dryer connected to the 100 Amp buss bar, before the main breaker, because he kept tripping the clothes dryer breaker. "How'd you do that" I asked. "I pulled the meter out of the socket and did it." he replied. You can't fix stupid.
I got the 2010 Darwin Awards sent to me the other day. Maybe this person will qualify for 2011. -
Yes its safe, but no it isnt
Fuel oil is a very passive fuel. But as ice has said theres a reason why he;s doing this, his heating system is unsafe. All the fuel providers must be refusing to drop oil into his system. The like;ly hood of him blowing himself up is low but that doesnt mean he wont spill a bunch of fuel.
(for years my "crazy uncle" would stand on the truck smoking a dart, transfering oil from the 50,000 tank to the truck, he never spontaneous combusted................. the cancer ate him right down to the bone tho )
