    Regulator

You may have a regulator on the street side of your gas meter going bad. Have your utility company come out to look at  it.

    not a pressure problem

Checked gas pressure at drip leg at boiler--Meter and regulator manifold was changed the other day when the flame was orange, by the utility company and flame color never changed. gas pressure was checked before and after repairs were made and flames were still blue with lazy orange tips.meter was also clocked and checked against boiler btu rating and was fine. utility company also checked other houses on the street and they too had the same problem. but im the only one with a gas stove so they never knew that there was an issue. gas service was installed in 1960 and i dont think it is excess odorant in the gas but if anyone has any input it would be apprietiated.oh and the boiler was checked with a combustion analyzer and the readings match up with manufacturers literature.

    Orange is not a problem

usually the result of disturbing the burner. If you tap the burner it will get orange flecks in it. Probably some very fine rust got disturbed in the gas system piping from outside.

Yellow is the problem that is an indication of carbon monoxide due to incomplete combustion.

Enjoy your weekend everything is okay.

    Key phrase

"oh and the boiler was checked with a combustion analyzer and the readings match up with manufacturers literature."

This is the ONLY way you'll know for sure that it's running properly!
