Weil-Mclain 68 boiler door gasket

I'm working on a Weil-Mclain model 68 oil boiler that has a leaking boiler door gasket.  I can't locate a replacement at any of the local supply houses.  Any recommendations on what I can use to gasket the door?  I'm considering a 3/8" rope gasket bit I'm not sure if that's the right route.  Any help is appreciated.

If it's the front plate, and not inspection door, use high temp silicone bead

#68 door gasket:

I use a Lynn Products length of 3/8 high temp rope. I put it on with high temp. silicone. The high temp silicome fails as soon as it gets hot.
Use the rope. The Silicone will fail.

OK to use rope gasket. Have done it many times. Set it in high temp silicone and then paste it with NeverSeize....you'll never have to change it again.....
Have always painted that gasket with neverseize when installing one...saves a lot of aggravation. The Ultra oil uses a graphite impregnated gasket...wish they did the same on the Gold boiler.

using water glass for holding rope in place?

No Charlie. You aren't the only one.

High temp silicon is easier, but I prefer waterglass too.
