Thermopride condensing furnace howling.....
Started this up for a pre-season trial run and it made a howling noise for the first time. Listening with a tube, it seemed to me that the noise was from the combustion air blower--perhaps from the bearing nearest the impeller. It is a "Windjammer" blower with a Lamb ball bearing motor. It's not howling now, but I'm wondering it it is worthwhile to try to take the thing apart and lube the bearings. Suggestions?
Thanks....
not servicable
Induced blowers are not serviceable and you'll need to replace it. After replacing, be sure to check the temperature rise across the furnace to make sure its in range. Temps above the range will often cause failure.
