This is what I sent the contractor who installed the replacement boilers
It has been brought to my attention that there are 3 issues with the new boiler that need to be corrected:
1.  Boiler water line to the domestic loop should be 1”, not ¾” – see instructions
2.  Drain for domestic feed is teed up so unit cannot be completely drained if needed
3.  Both units are tied to the domestic line without an isolation valve – one until will pull from the other during lead and lag.
The contractor sent
As for the issues you stated.
·         Boiler water line to the domestic loop should be 1", not ¾" - see instructions:
Contractor: The piping is piped 1 inch and reduced at each boiler to 3/4 inch to achieve a balanced flow threw each boiler
· Drain for domestic feed is teed up so unit cannot be completely drained if needed:
Contractor: The drain on the loop was installed to purge the air out of the loop not solely as a drain but can be used to drain the majority of the water.

· Both units are tied to the domestic line without an isolation valve - one until will pull from the other during lead and lag
Contractor: The loop has isolation valves to isolate the boilers from the tank. It was not specified in your specs to install valves to isolate individual boilers from the loop. If you would like I can install them but it would be at an additional cost.

That is a pretty poor quality job. I hope he wasn't paid in full, so you can make him install to manufacture specs, not his, then release the rest of the funds when properly installed.
