    Old Steam system

I have an old steam system that has been converted to district how water.
    .
system has a nice old pipe system, they added a circulator to the system, (cast iron radiators).

The question is the piping on the radiators, They piped it so the hot water enters the bottom and exits the top.
    .
Seems like you would be fighting gravity.
    .
What is the proper way to pipe these?

Not a huge concern. Ideally, the supply should enter the top, and exit the bottom. In a pumped system, there is no longer any gravity working on the water. Are the radiators heating properly?

    Re old steam

They have some balance issues, using Danfoss valves, but I will check on flow if this piping is ok.

    Thanks,

It is not ideal but it will function

There is a slight loss in heating rate when piped this way.
Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.
