ES2 venting?
Hi and a happy thanksgiving.I got a ? with an ES2 Burnham.Usually when i put them in i use an Alliance for hot water. With the hurricane etc and loss of power for 2 weeks i am getting customers who want to use a hot water tank as they will have hot water in case of an outage.how do I vent the water heater into the same chimney as the ES2.The boiler comes with its own flue pipe.Is it possible to use a heavy gauge flue pipe to combine boiler and water heater eliminating supplied boiler vent pipe and run the two units into the new liner. Thanks for your time. -
You should be able
to put a tee near the chimney opening and tie both units in there. But first, is the chimney lined properly? ES2 boilers have low enough stack temps that an unlined chimney will run too cool, causing condensation in the flue."Reducing our country's energy consumption, one system at a time"

liner
i use the stainless steel liner sized to the specs.thanks for the reply just wanted to ensure the tee could handle the venting as the provided vent is double wall.i sometimes use the taco pc700-2 outdoor reset with this boiler, whats your thoughts on this.people seem to be happy with it so far. -
The Taco ODR will work fine
but we generally use the ODR card that Burnham sells for this boiler. It works just as well and saves some installation work."Reducing our country's energy consumption, one system at a time"

SR501-ODR
Take a look at the 501 w/ ODR, Burnham should reconsider their pricing on the EQ ODR module! -
IQ-ODR
If I am using an IWH I find that the price is comparable to any other that has same features plus the ease of installation.
