turkey day

well the turkey is in the oven.two weeks ago i was pulled out af retirement when my friends in  oceanside needed help so i loaded up the truck with a boiler,hot water tank and all the fittings i needed ,,,it was time to volunteer and go to work.my heart goes out to all of the sandy victims.keep the faith .bobby b

Question
With the cost of copper these days why didn't you run the black return pipe up higher to save on cost?
also why didn't you use pumps with check valves built in instead of the flow controls?
