Removing dip tube in Richardson el
Anyone know how to remove Richardson system dip tube from return of radiator? -
it should
be threaded and screw out of the radiator stub...why would you want to though?Serving Cleveland's eastern suburbs from Cleveland Heights down to Cuyahoga Falls. -
Removing dip
Radiator doesn't heat, steam gets to valve, and occasionally will heat top of 1st section. Have had valve replaced with Mepco orificing. Radiator is on 2nd floor run off riser, only one heated off it. System is running on 2-3 oz of pressure with vaporstat, but even when I had pressuretrol, still didn't heat. converted from oil to gas, and rad has always been under performer. -
Try
cleaning the little hole in the tube that acts as the air vent."Reducing our country's energy consumption, one system at a time"

That was
my play, just concerned about running into any problems with removal of tube. -
Listened to return
pipe opposite supply riser using stethascope, sounds like faraway toilet or gravel sand with occasional thump or sound like muffled thud, not metalic. Haven't removed tube yet, will do tomorrow, but had to get feedback on sounds in return. -
Removed dip still no heat
Removed dip, air hole clear, didn't remove ball check from elbow, but rotated and cleaned with cloth, no residue on cloth. Still no heat in radiator. -
