PEX-AL-PEX tubes for antifreeze
Hi all, I want use PEX-AL-PEX tubes for antifreeze liquid which goes from solar collectors to heat-exchanger. But not sure if this material is fine for that. Has alumunium corrosion problems with antifreeze liquid? Or any others?
not to worry about glycol
PEX-AL-PEX has an internal PEX layer which is in contact with the fluid. The aluminum should never see anything other than a tiny bit of surface oxidation at the cut ends of the tube.
I would be concerned about temp limits, particularly near the collector. I prefer stainless or copper for hot side, PP on cold depending on design.

Pex-al-Pex
This material is not rated for the temperatures delivered by the solar panels. Only copper or stainless steel linesets should be used. The Pex piping will be compromised by the high temps and fail prematurely.
