have a harvey whipple furnace that seems to be doing well, except over the last couple of days, no hot water upstairs. No water at all when I turn on the hot water tap in my kitchen and the upstairs bathroom. My husband bled the lines, still the same. He thinks there may be a clog somewhere? Any ideas what would make the hot water stop moving, but the heat is still on. It's oil, forced hot water. Started two days ago and I have no idea what's going on.
this furnace is from 1952 when my house was built, but my husband replaced the motor and a couple of other things, so it's basically rebuilt on the inside. Outside, looks like an Edsel. Water comes into the house, goes through coils in the furnace to heat and then is supposed to come out the taps. Cold water is coming through fine, just no water coming out when I turn on the hot taps. Only thing I can figure is a block somewhere, but no idea where and there's a lot of pipes.
you have a washer that has come off, or the screw head is lodged in a flow restrictor. I have seen coils plug to a trickle, but never no flow at all unless something has come undone. Can you post some pics?
