## What are the flow rates coming out of this Tee? (7 Posts)

• ### Help. What are the flow rates coming out of this Tee?

If flow z = 6gpm, what does x and y equal?

flow x = ?
flow y = ?

The 3/4 inch side loops are equal in every way. (length, elbows, etc...)

Yes, the question is as simple as it seems.

I need more than one opinion.
• ### I belive the ole

What goes into a tee must come out rule applies here. So 3.
• ### flow rate

since both loops [x,y] are equal, then the flow must be the same in each.
due to the incompressibility of water, then the flow will be 3gallons in each.--nbc
• ### Thanks

That should be good.
• ### Yes, 3!

Don't get flow rate confused with velocity.
