Boston Tragedy Hits Closer To Home

Saw this on Facebook this morning -- a young fellow named Jeff Bauman was badly injured in Monday's bombing at the Boston Marathon. Jeff wound up losing both of his legs.

Jeff's brother Tim works for Eric C. Foster Plumbing and Heating in Chelmsford, MA so in my book, that makes Jeff one of the "family." I"ve known Eric for a lot of years and he runs an outstanding business.

They've started a fundraising website to help defray what is sure to be a mountain of medical bills coming the family's way. Please keep Jeff in your thoughts, and if you can, help the family out.

Here's the link to the fundraising website: http://www.gofundme.com/BucksforBauman

    Just got this from OESP:

    Dear Dan,

    Normally, Thursday we like
to share updated information about our annual convention and trade show
in Hershey, May 19-23rd but with this issue, we'd like to take a moment
and share some sad news that the Association feels should be shared.

    It was learned last night
that an employee of F.W. Webb was impacted by the Monday bombing in
Boston. Kevin Corcoran, a truck driver based in Methuen, witnessed two
family members, wife, Celeste and daughter, Sydney as they were hit with
shrapnel. Both have very serious injuries.

    The F.W. Webb Community is
doing whatever they can to support Kevin and his family and would like
to remind all well wishers to kindly respect their privacy at this time.

For those that wish more information here is an article from the Lowell Sun:http://www.lowellsun.com/todaysheadlines/ci_23042915/hit-hard-by-blast-lowell-family-and-friends.

If anyone wishes to donate funds to assist them with expenses or get further updates visit: http://www.gofundme.com/CelesteandSydney.

    On behalf of the
members of the National Association of Oil and Energy, our thoughts and
prayers go out to the Corcoran family and all others that have been
    impacted by this tragedy.

    More to the Bauman story

Received this from a colleague this morning - was on the radio news this morning:

An update to Jeff Bauman's story -- it was reported on the radio today that Jeff, even under sedation and in massive pain, tubes down his throat , helped the FBI sketch artists with a description of one of the guys he saw drop the backpack. From that sketch description they were able to focus in on all the video film and target the suspects.
  • Jeff

I just read that Jeff gave the police a great description of the guy who dropped a bag near him, at the finish line. Jeff gave this description to police. when he arrived at the hospital despite his injuries.

    Thank
