    Your stove installation looks fine. Your attic insulation is installed wrong. The kraft paper should be installed next to the heated area. You have it reversed.

    thanks guys yes the insulation was installed wrong and some day i will be up there to fix it i will also stagger the seams when i flip it around. thank you Jason

    Is that pink-stuff insulation a second layer or is it the only layer? If it is the only layer then flip it over. If it is a second layer, then you *should* peel off the kraft paper or get unfaced batts as a second (or more) layer in an attic.

    catalytic are cool :)

    wheres the outside air for the combustion? is it the floor grill on the left of where you are standing? i tend to recommend bringing the outside make up air under the free standing with an opening close to the front. there is an additional gizmo that you can lash into the stack....which looks like a coffe pot / flour sifter ...it reduces stack to very low temps and reduces particulates by collecting them out of the previous combustion process. you can remove it close a little slider door ,clean it with the sifter squeezer handle and put it back from whence it came... i wish i knew who made them they have been around for a while...
