good luck

@ February 14, 2013 7:42 PM in Disassemble Burnham V1113

been there, done that. Its wasn't any fun.....Make sure you have the right size rope gasket, comes with the nipple kit if I remember correctly. I didnt have any major problems removing the nipples...tapped out slowly and evenly with a piece of round stock from behind. Hopefully you dont have to replace any sections because I dont think the newly manufactured sections fit that age of boiler. We have replaced alot of the V9 with Buderus". I personally wont do a job like that unless we go time and material after trying to fit up new sections into the V9....alot of frustration on something that should be that hard.

delay valve?

@ January 12, 2013 6:31 PM in Riello pump pressure

The F20 has a delay valve that can be turned on (low fire) so that you can set it up on low. Is it possible the little screw got turned the pressure gauge would show the low fire pressure all the time.

sorry

flow?

@ December 1, 2012 1:37 PM in Interesting dilema

How fast is the main heating? Is it possible you have a have a restriction in the main or maybe a valve didnt open all the way? Pressure check at the circ to ensure flow. Good luck

Code

@ May 21, 2012 9:46 PM in Riello burner with New Yorker boiler?

You are not allow to change out that burner to a Riello, certification is for the Beckett. It would make it an "uncertified appliance" in Canada. If I read the serial number right...1990 that makes it 22 yrs old this year. The water heater behind it looks approx same age. Time to consider replacement of both items for piece of mind.

Riello ?

@ February 13, 2012 7:07 PM in Smallest Gas/oil Burner

Riello's RLS 28 fits the bill for that firing range I believe

non condenser

@ December 12, 2011 6:35 PM in Lowering water temps on Viessmann vitogas

Isn't the vitogas none condensing? If it is the boiler coding card sets a minimum water temp. to save the boiler from condensing. You may needs to add a mixing valve station.

damn couplings

@ September 17, 2009 4:29 PM in Carlin 702CRD help

As  Ed nyc said, get yourself a rubber( Guardian) coupling with the separate metal ends and make sure the blower wheel has been changed over to the heavy duty one.

@ July 5, 2002 5:57 PM in Boiler Room Fires - Chris Cangelosi PE

I wouldn't worry too much about the boiler itself, but I would replace everything electrical. New burners and new oil line including o.s.v. And this time make sure the firomatic valves are close/attached to burner.
