Can you use r-22 equipment, i.e. gauges, recovery machine, for R134a refrigerant? Can not find this info anywhere. And as it is a replacement for R502, we think it should be ok. We need to recover refrigerant from old refrigerators.ÂAlso, what about R404a? what guages/ recovery machine is compatible? This is for recovery from bad commercial ice machine.
Thanks for the help.

Did similiar thing when I drove oil truck. Went to wrong house, was a row of twins and was supposed to go to house on left but went right. Realized mistake VERY quickly when there was no whistle. At 70 gallons of oil a minute doesn't take long for a simple error to be costly. The owner had tank removed, but not the fill and vent. Boy were they mad when they got home.@ July 19, 2009 10:19 PM in Mothers (Dan H.)

My work GMC has to have the rears pulled to change rotors. Down 1/3 of trucks. Have had nothing but problems with the rear end of this thing. Yes, I would buy a sprinter. All makes have problem. Good vs. bad, Sprinter still wins.@ July 13, 2009 7:51 PM in Is this a fire hazard?
As I study fire science in college, heating a combustible over and over does lower flash point to a certain degree. Not a whole lot, but it does lower flash point.@ July 5, 2009 8:53 AM in Prayers needed

Say a prayer for the fireworks worker in Quakertown, Pa. He was lighting the fireworks when 1 exploded at ground level. Coworkers were screaming for help. He was traking to local hosptial, but it doesn't sound good. Thoughts and prayer to him and his family. Hug your family. Lee@ July 2, 2009 4:45 PM in Billy Mays

I've never seen guages with 22 and 410. Have seen 22 with 2 other refrigerants, but I always assumes they had similiar oils so cross contamination was not a problem. I have sets for each of the refrigerants that we work on, and they never have more then 1 type in them. Never thought it was worth the risk of messing a system up.@ June 29, 2009 7:05 PM in Cigarette Odor Removal from Ductwork
I own one, and when something goes ripe that my kids hid and we don't find. It quickly gets rid of smell. Most have a sanitize setting and boy does that work. We haveused mine to get rid of fuel oil smell after spill. I would think fuel oil smell would be harder to get rid of then cig smoke. It would be worth a try for the minimal rental fee.@ June 29, 2009 5:08 PM in Cigarette Odor Removal from Ductwork
Check with tool rental shops for an ozonator. Electronic air cleaner that gets rids of odors and cleans the air. Works awesome for fuel oil odors after a spill. I would think it would work on cigeratte smoke.@ June 28, 2009 7:34 PM in Billy Mays

How heavy id it? Why not use 4 pulleys attached to ceiling and make a frame for it to sit on. Tie ropes to platfoem, thru pulleys and then to anchor point on wall. You could then just raise and lower at will and slide into truck or onto trailer.@ June 1, 2009 8:11 PM in Cleaning my EK-2000 oil fired boiler combustion chamber
What test said combustion test was clean? Yes, it should be cleaned yearly, it is much easier to clean yearly then letting it sit and get hard in the chamber and heat exchanger.@ May 23, 2009 2:20 PM in 80%+ vent terminations in cupolas

We used to install Kerr (2 to be exact), removed both in less then 6 months. Customers complained about how hot the front panels got and the noise they generated. And yes the ductwork was sized correctly. They just did not like them, so we stopped offering them.@ May 22, 2009 5:32 PM in Do I have to pay a biddr for a heat-loss analysis?
Does your doctor give you free xrays? Some contractors will let you see a heat loss calc before you sign on the dotted line, most that I know will not. They will only spec out the equipment as needed from calcs. heat loss programs are not cheap, so a modest charge would not be out of order. Just My Opinion@ May 18, 2009 8:15 PM in Cleaning oil burner nozzles?
A lot of old timers would leave an old nozzle near the boiler "in case" the nozzle would clog up at night and they didn't have one. I always take the old nozzles with me when I leave a job. It was bad enough to be removed from service, Why would I want to put it back into service??
