Hey Mad Dog,

Thanks of thinking of me, any time I can sit with you and Burke is a treat.  Freddy and Jay loved it.

Smoke Test

That's a great point, you should always do a smoke test before using a combustion analyzer, no matter what brand or model.

Tech 50?

@ January 21, 2013 10:50 PM in Oil fired boiler setup with Fyrite Tech 50

Where did you buy your tech 50, haven't been made for a while and may need to be calibrated, and to repeat what was said here, call a licensed oil tech.

Stack temp seems high.

@ May 10, 2003 3:35 PM in draft and chimney flue size

780 stack temp? If your service company is telling you to change the boiler and/or reline the chimnet they are giving you good advice. Your heating dollars are going up the chimney. A properly sized boiler with a properly working chimney will pay for it self in savings and comfort.

@ May 9, 2003 10:34 PM in draft and chimney flue size

Is the Chimney interior or exterior. Oil or Gas? NFPA 54 will give gas liner sizes, NFPA 31 for oil. Interior chimneys you have a fighting chance of gewtting away with it, exteriors will be a problem. Rich
