Ditto what Bill said. Do you have a vac gauge on both units. I would. Do you have a 30 psi gauge on return line, This will tell if return line is the problem. When in doubt use gauges ED N.Y.C.HELP

That .05 draft you have on job. Is that - or + . If - you must have + over fire. Most W/m I work on need +.10 . Recheck specs. for that combo. Go back to the 150 psi. Make sure it has delay { st70 } Set Z and air band. Like stated that is a sweet running combo. Hope this helps. ED N.Y.C.xxxxxxx

Watching it move and/or knowing its bad are not the same thing. You must test pressure in boiler . Get a hose x 1/4" adaptor and 100 psi gauge and put it on working draw off and see what pressure is. now you have a place to start. not the same or very close then you know if gauge is bad. now you are ready to trouble shoot. Before you do any thing find ouy how long the blast tube is. I will bet its about 14" Your 4 electrodes is/are to insulate the buss bars There are two on each line only so buss bars are straight and insulated I don't think you can get a tube that long for burner unless you are willing to switch to "F' head. has been done many, many, times as Robert said. Your problem is finding some one to do it and then back it. ED N.Y.C.Air in oil line
@ July 20, 2011 5:16 PM in air in oil line
How far of the bottom of tank is line. 4" is normal. By running oil line this way you should have created a SYPHON. Once all the air is out of line you basicly have a gravity line.Plane and simple you have an air leak. Find it and problem will go away. Unit will run at 0" of vac. Hope this helps. ED N.Y.C.Fill & Vent
@ May 18, 2011 11:25 AM in Eliminating blow back when filling tanks
Since fill and vent are both open to atmosphere there is nothing to stop oil from going up vent as well as tank to tank. To do this with out 3 fill lines is #1 NO TEE'S #2 2inch fill to tank #1 #3 2inch bridge from tank #1 to tank #2 with double swing #4 2inch bridge from tank #2 to tank #3 with double swing. #5 2inch vent with 2inch pipe. This way as oil is going in it is forcing air out from tank to tank to tank to vent. In N.Y.C. 3 tank hooked up this way is a no no but 2 tanks are ok. I would check if legal in your area if so this will do it Hope this helps ED N.Y.C.L.W.C.O.

What boilers are they in.My guess is pressure fired going by firing rate of burner. If so you must close damper at soke hood till you have a positive .10 at least,in some boilers as hige as plus .25 Hope this helps EDMaybe Both

Steve, The smith 19A 6 section, is rated to fire 3.75 60 p in a Carlin 702 . Unless your boiler is way over sized, your way under fired . ED N.Y.C.702 CRD

I service approx. 25 Carlin 702's . The weekest link is the blower wheel,Carlin knows about this and has a kit to replace . It has a fan and new static plate. PITA to install. Next is the pump. the ajustment screw for low fire is under the mod. mtr.Look for it Must remove rubber cap on solinoid valve. Lots of fun. Last is the coupling, its longer than standard 6" King coupling. So I use the heavy rubber one with the teeth and metal ends. Hope this helps EDSMILE

Shawn, AS a tech who has been in the trade for 35 years and also workes TM this is how I handle that problem. Mr. HO when we install your new equipment we are going to change all valves, flue pipe etc. etc. Is there anything else you would like us to do while our men are here. I call the office tell them what the cust. and I have agreed apon, give them the price and set up day for work. Now Mr. Homeowner if you shoul decide that there is other work you would like us to do please call office before work is to begin so we can revise our price and have material on the truck so we can complete your to your satisfaction. I have found this to work about 95% of the time. Hope this helps EDboilers
