@ March 7, 2006 6:55 AM in Happiness in Clip Tie Land
Paul, the problem was in the plastics they used for the ties! At first I though it was the tool too. I took them apart clean them lube them and still had the same problem and I have two. My father was in the plastics business and he said that there were too much reground plastics in the ties making them bridal they need to use more virgin plastic to make them work right. I almost was ready to give up but the new bag of ties I got worked great the other day with the temps being in the high 20’s. If they come out with a redesign I hope they make it to hold more ties. That’s right folks my guys are so happy that Watts finally got their act together and fixed the plastic problems with the ties!! After getting two boxes of 6000 each and not being able to use them we were not happy. The last batch they only sent us a bag of 960 and we used half the bag and everyone worked even it the cold. Hey Hot Rod! Boy is it nice to have this thing working again!! My guys are glad I didn’t give up. They hate to bend over to tie tube. John Jr.WOW !

@ February 2, 2006 4:48 PM in Clip Ties
Is there anyone else out there having problems with Clip Ties? I returned a box of 6000 to receive another box of 6000 only to have the same trouble. It is not the tool because I have two and they both do the same thing. Some work and some don't. Some just fall apart when clipping them. Though it might be the cold but left some in the garage and tried them the next day only to have the same thing happen. Don't know if they changed the plastics they used or not. The manufacture told me to get another box and try them so I have another box coming. I don't want to stop using this tool it is great when it works.Happy B Day

@ December 21, 2005 3:01 PM in Chimneys
Anyone ever had to deal with bad draft in a chimney before? I have a DeDietrich Boiler 124A (113btu/hr) with a Riello burner set up to manufactures spec’s. Used a combustion analyzer (Testo 330) had 20% excess air, 12.7% co2 and running about 88.7 % eff lighting off nice and smooth. Had set draft damper at -.02wc. Got a call 40 days later saying boiler not running right. Showed up boiler all scooted up. Cleaned boiler started up and had problem getting draft and then draft started to work o.k. Went back a couple of days later to fix a leak on a circulator and checked the draft and found it going between pos .004 and neg .015. The chimney is about 40 feet high and has a 5” liner in it. The termination on top of the chimney has a Bluestone top about 6” above the flue pipe.Zone Heads

Tom get new heads! You have to have the old ones. I have about400 installed with no problems (new ones) I had problems with the old ones but Taco jumped right in and fix the problem! As far as them lifting off that can't happen they are just like a ball valve.Viessmann
@ November 22, 2005 4:55 PM in Vitodens question
Frank, give James Brown a call from Viessmann 401-732-0667 explain the problem to him and follow his directions. It sounds very much like a programing problem. From taking a shock like you mention you might have to start from scracth on the programing by reseting it.?????

@ October 20, 2005 5:56 PM in i Radiant valve from Taco - questions
Scott, I know this is a stupid question for you but did you read the directions for the Valve that came with it? It explains the blinking lights. It also explains the dip switch's on the side. If no luck give Taco a call they stand behind their product. John Jr.Stock
@ October 13, 2005 8:58 PM in Viessmann Nightmare!
Ken, First off I was at viessamnn the other day (Warwick RI) to pick up a Vitodens. If you were looking for a 6-24 you need to ask your supplier why you had to wait, because they have about 100 to 120 of them in stock in the good old USA. I saw them on the racks just waitng for someone to give them a good home. As far as tanks go the v-300's go fast but I do belive I saw some of those too. If anybody is having trouble getting Viessmann parts it is not because Viessmann don't have them here. Walking around their warehouse is like walking around a candy store.Nice!

@ September 14, 2005 6:51 AM in Taco 1400 pumps
I have used 1400-10, 1400-20, and 1400-30 and all have worked very nice. Much smaller than other circulators that I had to use for the same type jobs. Just beware on the 1400-30 and up circulators that you need to use a Taco 0012 Flange set with them. the others will take the regular freedom flanges. Not the company you think!
@ September 13, 2005 6:49 AM in Designing without a heat loss!
I should have told you that it is not the VT Company although I do run into those systems and shake my head.
