@ May 15, 2006 9:55 PM in Mothers Day Joke
The Mother's Day gifts: Four brothers left home for college, and they became successful doctors and lawyers and prospered. Some years later, they chatted after having dinner together. They discussed the gifts that they were able to give to their elderly mother who lived far away in another city. Milton, the doctor said, "I had a big house built for Mama." Michael, the lawyer said, "I had a hundred thousand dollar theater built in the house." Marvin, the electrician said, "I had my Mercedes dealer deliver her an SL600." Pat, the plumber said, "Listen to this. You know how Mama loved reading the Bible and you know she can't read it anymore because she can't see very well. I met this priest who told me about a parrot that can recite the entire Bible. It took twenty priests 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute $100,000 a year for twenty years to the church, but it was worth it. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it." The other brothers were impressed. After Mother's Day Mom sent out her Thank You notes. She wrote: "Milton, the house you built is so huge. I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway." "Michael, you give me an expensive theater with Dolby sound, it could hold 50 people, but all my friends are dead, I've lost my hearing and I'm nearly blind. I'll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same." "Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home, I have my groceries delivered, so I never use the Mercedes. The thought was good. Thanks." "Dearest Pat, you were the only son to have the good sense to give a little thought to your gift. The chicken was delicious. Thank you." Pat (Alaska Time) Clarkgood luck Scott

Your just a youngin so should be a snap. Happy reading. Hey, just got a thought. Why dont you see if you can get internet access in the OR and just do a local, then you can chat on the wall and give us a blow by blow of the operation. I'm sure the doc won't mind. Take it easy for a while and do everything the doc tells you (and those things that you want to do that he doesnt maybe too). Pat (Alaska Time) ClarkHave a great ride Dan

However usually at a bonspiel between games we play Euchre. Depending on how late we have to curl (I have heard they go into the wee hours at nite), we might be able to put a poker game together. Why don't you come on up? We'll make it happen Pat (Alaska Time) ClarkThanks John

@ March 17, 2006 7:18 PM in which % increase
The difference between the 80% unit and the 94.5% unit is 14.5%. (94.5 - 80 = 14.5) The increase in % of the efficiency between the 80% unit and the 94.5% unit is 18.125%. (94.5 - 80 = 14.5 / 14.5 divided by 80 = 18.125) Hope this helps. PatI'm in

There was a study done some years ago and it was determined that weathermen are actually 100% correct!!! It always does exactly what they predict. They just get their days mixed up. It sometimes takes years to do what they predict. Sitting in the balmy city of Anchorage at 5 above. Forecasting 10 to 20 below for the last several days, but not getting that cold. 5 below is the coldest I've seen here so far this year. Pat (Alaska Time) ClarkNice

Hope your dad is doing OK. My thoughts are with you and your family. I am leaving next Tues to go visit my parents. Mom is having some Kidney problems and we will be going to the doctor with her on the 8th so we can see how serious things are. Information has been sketchy (she doesn't know or remember what the doctor tells her), my wife, Karen is a nurse so she speaks the language. Otherwise they are doing good for an 84 and 82 year old couple. Pat (Alaska Time) ClarkYou guys be careful
@ November 12, 2005 8:01 PM in I hate purple primer
out there. You never know when you might run into "Purple People Eaters" Don't worry Mark, I hate purple primer too, but it does work better than those little smelly trees you hang from your mirror to "de-odor-ize" the van. We use mostly ABS here also, which I like a lot better. The black splotchy designs on your jeans are really neat and it drives the wife totally bonkers when you peel those little chunks off your hands in the middle of the night. @ November 4, 2005 11:18 AM in When did you start \" pumping away \" ?
Don't remember exactly when, I read in a trade magazine about the Point of No Pressure and we started repiping systems with air problems and new installs with pumping away. Funny, since then we don't have air problems in our boiler installations, except of course when the auto vent plugs up. Pat (Alaska Time) ClarkThanks Glenn

Will check with them to make sure. It is less than the 6" from the older manual so that helps. Pat Clark, Bell Plumbing & HeatingBurnham Question
@ October 28, 2005 10:18 PM in Glenn Stanton
Glenn, I have a question on clearance for Z-vent installed on a Burnham Boiler. The Boiler (Spirit) installation manual allows several different venting manufactures (of which Z-vent is one) and states: Vent pipe minimum clearance to combustible material is five (5) inches when vent is installed in a fully enclosed (chase) application or four (4) inches when vent is installed with at least one side open, similar to a joist bay application. The installation manual for Z-vent states: System Operating Temperature 480F (249C) Clearance Enclosed Horizontal 8" Vertical 4" Clearance Unenclosed Horizontal 1" Vertical 1" Does the Boiler Installation Manual take precedence over the Z-vent Installation Manual or vice versa? Just looking for your opinion on this before I go to the AHJ. Thanks, Pat Clark, Bell Plumbing & HeatingAdjusting anticipator
@ October 27, 2005 5:05 PM in Anticipator Setting
Make sure you have the power turned off before making any adjustment on the anticipator. If not it may burn out immediately when you move it. Then you will have to replace the thermostat. PatIt is beautiful
