@ December 21, 2012 5:28 AM in Wax on, wax off, wax on...What's that ? You can see you are manipulating the equipment. More clues?
@ December 14, 2012 11:16 PM in No commentI see the thing has some tabs with a name and phone number.Go get a tab and post it here. This could be fun:) Imagine the wrath from this crowd:
Even better, call the attorney generals office and complain of solicitations on a telephone pole. That ought to get their attention!!
@ December 13, 2012 11:58 PM in Three wire cicuitLong story short. My daughter started using a portable space heater, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker all on a 20 amp circuit. It took them awhile figure out how to not trip the breaker. The place was fine for 14 years with what it was wired for.
It's a strange coincidence the freezer broke now Oh ya, they also put up some extension cords for light not for exterior use
@ December 13, 2012 2:12 AM in Three wire cicuitI know what happens when you lose the common. If you lose the common, you lose the appliance. If one of the circuits has a huge draw, as in tripping the breaker all the time, and the other circuit is very small , would this resemble losing the common?
My two outside cabins have worked fine for 14 years but then a huge amp load took place at one and now I have a broken freezer full of fish in the other.
@ December 12, 2012 6:24 AM in Use Distilled Water in Cooling SystemHi again Harry - You are the owner of a water specialty company? The varietals are limitless. There is mineral, sparkling, purified, spring, distilled, etc...
Someday it will be holy water, to a certain denomination:)
Best of everything-Bill
@ December 8, 2012 5:47 PM in O2 PEX for plumbing ?I asked the same question a few months ago. ME came back with the same answer which was a load off my mind. Could this EVOH stuff cause trouble down the road? The chemical terms are pretty creepy!
@ December 3, 2012 1:50 AM in Something new.Man, you are a lucky guy!!
@ November 30, 2012 12:59 PM in Teflon tape, applied correctly. That fiberglass insulation on the flue pipe is yet another example :)!
@ November 20, 2012 6:02 AM in Invest in Water Treatment CompaniesHi Harry - Well I've identified my objectives and they are to NOT lose money!
Can you be a little more specific as to what are the (HOT) water treatment stocks?
@ November 17, 2012 5:40 AM in A GFCI receptacle as a LWCOSo it's 10 p.m. last night and 13 degrees out. A neighbors house sitter calls and says the heat is out.
The system had glycol and the make up was off. It did not have a LWCO.
What it did have was a leaking boiler drain at the boiler return. As the fluid leaked out the pump ran dry and tripped a GFI the boiler was plugged into.
The pump was ruined but the boiler lives on. What a twist! A major company was there in Sept.
@ November 11, 2012 2:43 AM in is it safe to fix a boiler that was submergedCheck out , The movie, Assault on a queen, with Frank Sinatra.
@ November 8, 2012 10:04 AM in Maximum heightwith all the flooding hoopla on the the east coast, the higher the better!!
@ November 7, 2012 3:26 AM in V O T E !My son in law and I went to vote. We live in a small community of about 300 population.

@ November 4, 2012 2:17 AM in So I check my e-mailI see that Dan is giving advice on growing old.
In paragraph number two he has a sharing. It reads as follows. "Another cool thing is that the check valve between your brain and your mouth often gets stuck in the open position"
This is something I have to keep secret from my kids:)
@ October 26, 2012 10:46 PM in improper boiler install? While the water piping isn't exactly ideal, I was wondering. Now, I don't do oil. But is it okay to have the tee with the draft regulator right off the boiler? And how were the combustion checks?
@ October 20, 2012 8:34 PM in Hot water radiator -kitchen questionKitchens and bathrooms are always challenging. I did my first radiant ceiling this summer. It hit 25 degrees last week (Alaska). The homeowners are very pleased.
But heat goes up right?:) Well not always.
@ October 10, 2012 10:25 PM in Asking your patienceYou answered an E-mail I sent last winter very promptly. And the result was a big load off my mind. You are an absolute gentleman. That's for sure!
@ October 9, 2012 11:28 PM in What makes a boiler sound like a Moose?Well I went and checked with my know it all son-in-law and he says it's only during mating season.
Now look, I don't what you guys are doing out there, but leave the damn moose alone!
@ October 6, 2012 12:38 AM in What system pressure for 6,400ft above sea level?Well, a while back the topic of elevation came up here. I was, and still am clueless. Could there be an effect on a relief valve?
Tire makers don't tell you to change tire pressure based on elevation.
Or, could a lower atmospheric pressure cause trouble with pump seals?
Still clueless. But still with plenty of crazy ideas!
@ September 23, 2012 6:40 PM in Corrosion on Peerless Boiler- Need a new boiler or not?Doesn't the relief valve need to be vertical, even with a steamer?
Well she's from S.F. so I had to say something!
