You do realize

@ October 10, 2006 10:24 PM in A victory for wet heat

That by designing the HWBB for 150°, you're going to nearly double the linear footage of BB you'd need otherwise and therefore nearly double the cost? They'll love it when their utility bill comes on real low, quickly making up the differnce in the cost. Rock on!

Are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm not lining it.

@ August 31, 2006 8:42 PM in 8 inch by 13 inch

A gent that works with me is actually doing the lining. I mentioned the SS vs AL liners and he looked at me like a deer in the headlights, "Alumimum? No Way! Stainless steel is the only way!" Can beat that, can you? This gent will be doing the high voltage wiring also. Go figure, a chimney sweep that's also an electrician....

not really

@ August 31, 2006 5:42 PM in 8 inch by 13 inch

There is a B&G series 100 pump on it at the back, of course, pointing toward the PONPC. There are few left around, not too many. I'd like more of them.

The mayor elections for New Orleans are over and Ray Nagin was re-elected over another gent (a former Congressman?). Amazing thing is Sis took this picture at Mardi Gras in Febuary. Hizzoner Ray Nagin was out glad handing on Fat Tuesday, too bad he was having pictures taken with tourists instead of residents... Again, large file. On Edit: oops, wrong picture. This should be the correct one.

Here's some pictures taken in Febuary when my sister was there for Mardi Gras. The inside shots are supposed to be in Metarie which is right nest door to New Orleans. All these pictures are full sized, so the files are BIG. On Edit: I have many more and will resize them for posting.

I don't

@ August 28, 2006 9:35 PM in Ice machine and customer

I tell the customer that the part is his and if it goes bad, it's his dime for me to find the problem. I warrant nothing I don't sell. Most everyone is okay with that, even the people with the box store thermostats.

Planning stages

@ August 28, 2006 7:13 PM in Condensing & copperfin!

HR, I'm planning on installing some HWBB in the finished section of my basement. To start with, I'm going to run it off of a free 30 gallon WH (~ 38K input) dedicated to the HWBB. After that motors along for a short while and some $$ comes available, I'm planning on installing a Knight or Munchkin boiler for the HWBB, a couple of radiant zones, and an indirect water heater. The HWBB zone has been designed around a temp of 150° water, so there will be a bit more of the HWBB than required at 180°. This will keep me closer to condensing temp and when I hook up the ODR, it should work a lot more efficiently.

John, my son, started College last Monday. We got word Friday that he got approved for his Boy Scout Eagle. He's still here and living at home, but it's real differnt now. He's more of a man than I thought he would be. It's a big change for us as Dads, but it's a bigger change for them. All I can say is to love them and be as supportive as you can. I never thought my son would grow up.

Okay
