Five days now

@ July 3, 2014 6:56 AM in One of the greatest heating tech' has passed away

And I still think he's going to walk in the door .. strange.
An empty chair at the table in the morning and a world full of knowledge is gone.
Rest in peace pal ... you did well.

Thank You All

@ June 30, 2014 1:54 PM in One of the greatest heating tech' has passed away

Its nice to hear such kind words but I expected nothing less. Chris had a heart of gold and was always willing to help. He took such pride in what he did and took it to heart if he couldn't find the answer to something.
I am at a loss for more words to say.

One of the greatest heating tech' has passed away

@ June 29, 2014 5:55 PM in One of the greatest heating tech' has passed away

My Friend and employee Chris Aiello (JCA) has passed.

I have known Chris since school and he has worked for me for a long time. I learned so much from him. His great knowledge of all things heat will not be replaced easily.

He loved this industry and will be missed Greatly by all who knew him.

Lochivnar install

@ October 22, 2013 6:56 AM in Lochivnar install

Indirect comes next year.

Hi Lori

@ September 9, 2013 6:45 AM in High efficiency gas boilers

I live in mass and if we are close I would be more than happy to discuss a new heating system with you.
I have been involved in installing heat and boilers for 30 years now.
I have installed Numerous high efficiency boilers and service many installed by others. I have yet to see a catastrophic failure simply due to the boilers design.

Wintac

@ August 7, 2012 3:40 PM in Wintac Pro

As I said I have used the program for years. I have never had a lost file.
I have not done all the uprades and only do them every five or six years.
I have not had any horrible experiences.
If I could ask for anything it would be for the Wintac to Quickbooks function to actually BE seemless.

I know what you mean though.

These had to be about 45 yeasr old.

@ May 25, 2012 6:24 AM in Copper Flue piping

The hot water heater vents are still operating.
Here's the boiler this flue came off. We installed a Buders atmosperic natural gas boiler. The elderly owner didn't see his chance of getting a ROI in his life time. He's probably correct.

That tank pipe is not as crooked as it appears in the photo.
Nice product HR  :)

Copper Flue piping

@ May 24, 2012 6:48 AM in Copper Flue piping

This flue piping was connected to the old boiler we removed. Look at the talent that went into producing this.
" Oh yes sir, we remove all the old materials"  :)

@ May 24, 2012 6:44 AM in Lochinvar install photos with centro-therm flue pipe

Here's a knight boiler we installed with the Centro-Therm flue piping. we hadn't installed the fresh air make up yet and may not.
I really like the CentroTherm product and we installed the liner down the chimney. Its has a very nice termination chimney cap.
This house has cast iron radiators and she condenses like a mutha.
Happy Home Owner.

Mod/Con with CI rads

@ May 8, 2012 6:01 AM in gas gun on existing oil burner or new gas boiler

I find it amazing that there are still contractors who will tell an owner that these boilers won't work well with large cast ron radiators. Wow.
As far as vetning goes, some mod/cons have a venting system that allow them to use the chimney. If not they can be side wall vented.

Computer programs to run your business ?

@ May 3, 2012 1:59 PM in Computer programs to run your business ?

I ask this every few years ,,, what are you all using for systems to run your business
I have been using Wintac for years now and am hesitant to change but the accounting is tough and it does not seem to flow seamlessly with Quick-books as I was told.

@ April 26, 2012 11:00 AM in Heres a photo of a fairly old boiler :)

Gas company man told him he should never get rid of it .....

Heres a photo of a fairly old boiler :)

@ April 26, 2012 6:10 AM in Heres a photo of a fairly old boiler :)

We are replacing this with a Buderus atmopsheric gas boiler. It was tough enough to get the old owner to do this ... I let him know I think he got his moneys worth out of the old unit..   :)

@ April 16, 2012 6:26 AM in Four Hybrid Eternals for a Restuarant (photos)

about detail ,., Charlie is correct all the units have a gas vale and then union. The photos maynot show it.
You ARE correct about the vacum breakers and I never noticed it before. Good eyes.
These units can be staged.

More than likely

@ April 16, 2012 6:20 AM in Baseboard Heating

A flow check that is defective and letting heat trickle by and the boiler is hot to make domestic hot water.

Good eye Henry

@ April 14, 2012 6:05 AM in Four Hybrid Eternals for a Restuarant (photos)

These photos were taken before the job was finished. Each unit gets it air from outside, I just hadn't drilled the holes yet. The 6" PVC is the common vent and that is an approved method of venting from the manufacture. I did it because the existing unit used a side vent and I thought it would be less work for the owner.
