Joe, I think you did the wiring diagram and we made up the manifold change. Also, used 2 of the lockout boards on this one rather than the drawing using 1 so if lockout occurs on 1 the other can still work as long as no problem on that stage. ps Sent pics to office also.Yes, but Buderus atmospherics don't ship that way

CSD 1 definition, as far as I can figure?
@ February 5, 2005 11:11 PM in csd1 conversion on Buderus boiler, pics
Hard lockout ignition, can't use the power switch to reset, like a RM7800 flame programmer. + test ports between the redundant solenoids in the gas valve. Seperate pilot valve from main valve. Leak test port at outlet of main gas control valve to test for leak by in main gas valve. Etc etc etc. If over 2.5 mbh, then low and high gas pressure switches. Prove of closure of main valve. If power burner, air proving switch, low fire interlock. etc etc. Want any more, god what a pain.Mario

Thanks Scott, I had promised him pics of the CSD1 conversion I did on their boilers here in Washington and forgot when I did the 1st. Now I just did the 2nd and took pics this time, I also posted them here. Mario is a great guy, had lot's of fun last June with them.Reply to Constantin

Constantin, regarding the burn marks, those are the domestic plumbing lines, not ours. Whew! Regarding the two boilers, the Munchkin is for all the radiant floor heat and the domestic. The viessmann is for the high temp radiators and water to air handler units for the older part of the house. This is appx 10,000 sft. Great client and great General. I did the first remodel 14 years ago and now redid the mechanical room and 3000 ft add. Thanks for the words.csd1 retrofit on Buderus boiler, pics

One of my guys did a great job on these, except he put the expansion tank in the wrong place on the one as you all will point out, going to move it soon. Still work worth mention.Mario Groebs e-mail at Buderus?

Parts availabl from Gourley company in I think Waltham,Mass. We order parts quite often for old ones we work on. The problem you are talking about is probably a burned out heat x. They are available, Also water valve rebuild kits, over temp limiters for heat x. Yes they were an asme boiler, PP6 & PP12 models. Easy to change out heat exs. About 4 hrs and its done. I have apt bldgs that they stock the back up parts on site, we go and find a bad heat x, change it while on site and move on.Paloma, parts available.

Are you talking about the electronic aquastats, We have had 2 doa ones on GA124. My local rep said they have had quite a few. We find that the differential between off and on is 45+ when there bad. Good luck, Timsteam u/h

I am an owner, I would never ask someone to work that much, let alone I know all of my guy's would say go stuff it. So move on, it sounds like you care about people and that's the #1 thing I think in this bus. Good luck. TimBuderus install

Good looking work, cush clamps are great, have used hundreds, little spendy but good product.undergrounds
@ January 26, 2005 9:53 AM in Ok, how much trouble am I in?
Just finished replacing underground return system, overhead feed with 5 drops into slab. House was just remodled 1.5 years ago but the old main returns failed. Located all drops in walls, opened up walls and ceiling and repiped in copper at ceiling. Put balancing valves on all returns when we got into boiler room so we could balance to the remaining old overhead returns. Took 5 days and now they are sheetrocking. Worked out great. Good luck.motor starting
@ January 25, 2005 7:57 AM in blower motor, intermittent starting problem
Could also be a dirty start switch sticking periodically. Not very repairable but gets you in the right direction.Thermostatic element
@ January 25, 2005 7:54 AM in w/m gold gv6 flow problem????????????????
We have replace quite a few of them on the GV and I think also on some of the Burnham models. pretty easy, just did one about 2 weeks ago. I think it was a Taco element on the Burnham. If the boiler is getting hot internally and not allowing any out then pretty sure that's what your up against. PS, call Weil Mclain and they will tell you who the local rep is, also they can give you the part# while your at it.Honeywell/sparco

Just used the V8000 series high capacity valves. 1', 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" sizes. Work great, good CV ratings also. Good luck, TimBoiler on blocks follow up
@ January 18, 2005 9:49 AM in Boiler on blocks follow up
That post shed some light on a problem were having with a CSD1 boiler install at a church. My partner had installed these 2 Burnham atmospheric appx 450000 btu boilers with Honeywell flame programmers on blocks and we were getting eroneous lockouts almost daily early in AM. We tore our hair out for a few days trying to find problem in flame signal, draft etc. and then the Rep did same. I think we will be going out there in the next day or 2 and sealing the base up under the boiler. Thanks to the Wall, Timoverfilling boiler
@ January 17, 2005 5:04 PM in To much water in steam system
could it be that the boiler does not have as much water capacity as the old boiler and during off cycle the amount of condensate coming back is too much for the boiler volume capacity and it floods the boiler??cast iron vs copper fin
@ January 17, 2005 4:48 PM in Baseboard Cast Iron or Slant Fin ?
I would say if you are using reset then the cast iron would be the only way to go as when you reset to lower water temps the output of the fin will go down substantially more than the cast at the lower water temps and beings how you have cast everywhere else it would make sense to stay with cast. IMHO. Tim
