Hi Dan!Glad to hear that the two of you got to spend some time together! I hope, even with the distance between you, that you are able to spend more time with Sully. I am sure that he wants that and know that you do too!
Hope to see a photo of you together sometime.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your Lovely Marianne and the entire clan!
Your Friend,

Flying Saucer House
@ October 7, 2011 8:40 AM in The FUN has begun...
Hi Mark! When we infrequently traveled to Denver when I was much younger (mid 1960's) we always looked forward to seeing the Flying Saucer House. That is what my family called it. We also thought that it was round, but can see from your photos that it is not!
Please do keep posting on your project. I always wondered what the interior looked like, now I know what some of it looks like. It will be great to see your promised mechanical room!

Wonderful Love!
@ September 2, 2011 2:48 PM in Friends of Paul Shay
I was moved deeply in my heart by Paul's testimony of his Lovely Monica! She was an amazing woman, who profoundly transformed her Paul!
I just came back from hugging my wife and kids, with a new appreciation of them all due to Paul's loving response to the passing of the Love of His Life!
God bless you Paul, your family, and may all of the memories of Lovely Monica stay strong throughout the years to come!
Trip to Heeney
@ May 25, 2011 11:05 PM in Oldest Furnace Contest
Mark!I hope to make it up to Heeney this summer, but don't know if that will be possible. But I am certainly trying to make the trip this year.
Are you there about every weekend?
It will probably be towards the end of June, but I will let you know as soon as we have a date(s) picked out.
Hope you are doing well, my friend!

Good For You ME
@ May 20, 2011 12:08 AM in It is done...
Hey Mark!Had my second one on 2 May. No polyps and like you and Dave the biggest discomfort was the nuclear laxative.
Glad to hear that you are good to go for another 5 years!
It is manly to take care of oneself! If not for yourself, then do it for the wife and kids!
Snowpack
@ January 17, 2011 5:43 AM in Friday Rib Tickler...(Thanks Matt!)
Hey Mark!It doesn't look like there is much snow on the ground. What is the snow pack like up in the high country?
Hope that you are doing well, and for now you are at least warm! :-)
How Close?
@ December 16, 2010 12:39 PM in How's your weather?
How close is your daughter's place to yours? Hope that you don't need to borrow one of the snow blowers from the Eisenhower Tunnel. One of the other posters mentioned lots of snow up in Winter Park, so it is probably in Summit County as well! :-)It hasn't been so cold, YET!! Generally about -5 -15 C so far. Hope that it stays like this.
How did you boiler set up turn out, with the bio-fuel etc? Photos of those would be interesting.
I look forward to seeing your summer place in photos, with all the snow!
You stay warm as well my friend!

GREAT NEWS
@ December 16, 2010 10:21 AM in Holiday proposal
Dan and Wallies! Thanks Dan for bringing this to our attention!
Thanks Wallies for wanting to be supportive. I hope that if you are
able that you will go ahead and send some money to this fund. Kelly
does promise to take any extra money and pay it forward. Who knows, if
enough money is sent in, perhaps several families in her neck of the
woods will be helped by our generosity of that of others who hear of her
plight!
My hat is off to you all!

Just a Bit Whiter!
@ December 15, 2010 11:37 AM in How's your weather?
Hey Mark!Come on over and help us shovel. The last 10 days we have had about 48" of that white part cloudy accumulate on the ground. The storm was so severe that it was named -- Monica to be exact. Lots of cars and trucks stranded for hours on the road from Tallinn to Narva (east of us, border town with Russia)
How's the weather at your summer house?
Hope that you and yours have a Merry Christmas!

Is This A Go?
@ December 15, 2010 12:26 AM in Holiday proposal
Hi Dan!I am a few days late reading about this family. Were you able to find a local contractor who is willing to do the work?
Christmas should be a time of joy and we can help make this Christmas a bit more joyful for this needy family. I am all for that! How do we send you the money?
Thanks for alerting us to this need and taking the bull by the horns about making it happen!
Be Blessed,
Clif
Wonderful and Lovely Woman
@ May 24, 2010 7:41 AM in Happy Birthday TLM
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOVELY MARIANNE!!Though we have never met, you have profoundly impacted my life. I first read about you through one of Dan's columns in 1991. He called you The Lovely Marianne and wrote about your virtues, including great patience with him, and your loveliness in all regards. I have read many of Dan's columns and he always treated you with the utmost honor and respect. This, of course, reflected upon his character, but reflected in greater measure upon you, your character and your dignity through life.
I quickly came to realize that his name for you was a true characterization of you, Lovely Marianne!
Through the life that you live and that Dan records, I learned a far greater appreciation of women. I have been married almost 11 years now, and from the first I have always referred to my wife as The Lovely Tuuli.
You have changed my life for the better, and I am so happy that you were born and that you live life to the fullest!
May this next year of your life be filled with a new sense of God the Father's love, care and concern for you.
Abundant GRACE to you,
Clif Heeney
Burgers and Kool-Aid
@ March 23, 2010 12:26 PM in uNREaL...
I would love to take you up on your offer of finally meeting you, enjoying your hospitality with a burger and savoring the air of Heeney! Do you serve Colorado Kool-Aid with your burgers? :-)I hope to see my parents this summer. If I get up your way, I'll definitely contact you beforehand and see if we can meet.
A warm winter in Heeney is an unusual occurence. Here in Tallinn, we have had a hard winter. We went almost 90 days where the high for the day didn't get above 22 F, and we had 30 days where the temp never got above -5 F. We normally get about 24" of snow, this year we have had over 72" and it snowed again last night!
Take care and I hope that this summer will be the one!

Lots of snow there this winter?
Hope that you wintered up well!

Vernal
@ December 29, 2009 12:03 PM in How's the fishing? (OT)
Hey Tim!Vernal is about 3 hours east of SLC on US 40, a little under 2 hours on east from Strawberry Res. I am living in Tallinn, Estonia. Left Vernal in 1990, but my parents and one sister still live there. It was where I was born and raised there, lots of friends and memories there.
I have several friends who are guides on the float trip from Flaming Gorge Dam down to Little Hole. The fishing is still good even in the winter, as they regulate the temperature of the water being released through the turbines at the dam. I am sure that you will have a good time fishing below the dam. Let us know how you do!
Best Regards,
Clif

@ December 23, 2009 6:04 AM in How's the fishing? (OT)
Hi Tim?Where exactly are you going? Where is your favorite place(s) in the High Uintas?
Did you ever try the fishing from Flaming Gorge Dam down to Little Hole?
Vernal is my hometown, so all these places are in my old backyard. Enjoy your time!
