@ April 15, 2013 8:01 AM in Control options with Vitodens 200 WB2B (Vitotronic 200 + Vitotrol 300)

200 and Vitotrol do everything your asking. Coding 2 - see Vitotrol influence factor and about 6 different system/boiler pump stop options. Thats all im tellin ya. When i used to ask how to use these unique features i got the keep it simple stupid. Had to figure it out myself. I have installed dozens of Vitotrols on single zone gravity or forced retrofits. If you install a Vitodens 200 its the cheapest communicating t-stat on the market! NA may be getting the better modulation of the UK Vitodens along with the new Vitotronic control this summer. Now go hire a professional.

We would use stuff called "blue block" or just "block" sealing compound. Only thing that works. Smells real good too. J

How do you cut crooked threads?

@ February 17, 2009 4:14 PM in Vitocell Tanks

I had same question. HTP is 45 min ride from my house and toured their plant for vision training. Also been to germany and yes vitocell manufactuing is top notch, superstor a bit more crude although when i was at HTP they were about to upgrade their line w/ computer automated welding. That was 5 years ago. Vitocell HX is 1" stainless through out w/ no fins to attract scale etc. HTP is cupronickel w/ fins and coil has higher pressure drop. Lifetime to lifetime warranty...I've installed prob. 80 SSUs and never had one come back.

Yes you are correct, the water in the heat coil though not much, will never move unless called and could get nasty.

@ February 12, 2009 6:02 PM in Hot water loop

i had problems using an X-block on a steam boiler. Primary loop is too hot, flat plate HX has to many small crevises where air can form and cause water to flash to steam ie BANGING. Everhot is better, cheaper and has better warranty that any flat plate on a steam application. Besides your only heating fin tube and don't need all the fancy stuff the x-block has.JG

HR, if the geo air handler is near the phoenix and the coil in the handler is all non-ferous and can handle street pressure, would'nt you just pipe it up w/a bronze pump? no HX. I mean obviously a different story if it was piped around the house ie baseboard or radiant. Just clairifing.JG

Thanks hr... May sell one on my first LEED house. Owner is on a tight budget and can't afford radiant but is doing Geo air and asked if a tankless propane could do backup for geo. Thought this tank would be best and can order it w/ a coil for future solar. Solar is hot.com is pretty cool...JG

My Testo 327 has been great.

I recently had a no heat on a Vitodens 200 i installed 2 years ago. Had to replace the radial fan (strange). Anyhow i observed the same "crumbs" on the bottom. Is this the "mouse poop" you guys refer to? Also alot of brown staining on the target wall but i think that is staining from condensation because it is a "wet" condensing wall. I have installed a dozen Vitodens 100s in the past year and have yet to be back.

I asked same quest.on here a year ago. Bought UEI Eagle 1 and returned, it had a defective printer and thought it was junk... Exchanged for a Testo 327-1. Well built w/ field replacable sensors. I also install Viessmanns and know germans make good stuff. Sweet hard case protects well.JG
