How do you erase them

You can

@ December 10, 2012 7:38 PM in Hot Water Problems, indirect fired Amtrol Heater

cut back on your flow. To see if thatts the problem , on the out-put side of the tank, close the ball valve 1/2 way ,that will reduce flow . if it works your over pumping . IF not your coils could be scalled up.If i remember correctly drain the tank , run the boiler to heat the coils (in the tank) then fill with cold water . That will cause the scale to drop off . Just to be sure give Amtrol a call .

Mod/cons

@ June 3, 2012 6:26 PM in Home ownews/mod cons

1. anyone you hire should do a heat load.
2. Most manafactures have poor instructional classes . One of the best is BUDERUS.
3. Reset is a must or any boiler.
4. I would HOPE instruction are read before the install. But once I was asked to leave a house if I neeed the instructions
5. Not important if they have service contracts .
6. Combustion analizer are a must. And make them show it to you.
7. Unless you hire a moonlighter , they will do.
8. I don't know about most manf. Buderus comes with test papers.
9.Routinely replace parts . Since there are soooo many pieces of equipment . No one can have everything.
10. All safety equipment needs to be tested annually ,not just at start =up.

Relief Valves

@ June 2, 2012 7:28 AM in Relief Valves

It is our policy , to replace relief valve every 5 years , On new customer we TRY to replace them on in spection ,the same to water heaters. Explaining to a customer why , is like time talking to the wall.

heat load

@ May 20, 2012 2:16 PM in heat load

Sorry dan, yesterday I poised a question , how to do a correct heat for hydronic heat ,as if I was a homeowner . The question was, the RIGHT way to do one . Either connected radiation or measure the house ,height of room ,windows and insulation.(This is for hot water not steam) I also check the input of the nozzle to see what is actually doing the job , And have found that the nozzle size is less then the load . My guess, is that the fudge factors  are way more then needed. Any help guys.

Sizing

@ May 6, 2012 5:43 PM in Help sizing new gas boiler

Highest eff.possible
Lowest water to heat .
Smallest boiler than will cover heat load.
Thats how to save the most.

You should

@ May 5, 2012 12:18 PM in gas gun on existing oil burner or new gas boiler

have no problem to converting it to high eff. we did several this and past years . With reports of saving in one case of over $4500 a year.It was a summer/winter boiler.
