@ February 26, 2013 10:09 AM in Off-topic: wall-hung toiletsZurn has 4 models of residential closet carriers that all fit within a 2" x 6" wood stud wall. The Z-1280 / Z-1282 / Z-1283 & Z-1285.
I have actually installed these on commercial retrofit projects that had limited options for wall space with good success.
@ October 7, 2011 3:33 PM in Please vote for RyanSorry, I was not exactly sure how the previous post would show up on the wall.
So to further explain, the link to Ryan's story is at the bottom of the previous post.
He is a Senior football player who was being courted by many Division I colleges and surely would have received a full scholarship to play football. He also carries a 3.4 GPA.
Before this season began he was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer and is currently in treatment. The team voted him captain and he has been an inspiration to not only the team but the community as well.
@ October 7, 2011 3:22 PM in Please vote for RyanIf you have a minute please read the attached information about a very special young man, and if so moved please vote for him.
Thanks to Dan, for once again offering his services to help,,,,,,,,,,,
Hello all, if you have the opportunity, please vote for Ryan. He plays for Coach John Nemec @ Kent Roosevelt High School.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Coach, he was here in Wapakoneta for 4 seasons back in the ‘70’s.
I was privileged to take part in three of those seasons and I can promise you if Coach has recommended this young man, and you can see and hear for yourself if you open some of the attachments, he is an incredible young man.

Dear Family and Friends,
I have shared Ryan Anderson's story with many of you these past few months. For those of you who may not know, Ryan is a senior offensive guard for the Kent Roosevelt football team in Kent, Ohio. My father has been the head coach at Roosevelt for over 30 years. Last April, Ryan was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma of his femur- an aggressive and rare form of bone cancer. Up until his diagnosis, Ryan was coveting Division One scholarship offers from top tiered football programs- Pitt, Indiana, Boston College, and Ohio state, just to name a few. The Kent football team and community has adopted the "NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN" slogan to honor Ryan this football season. His team elected him captain although he will never play another down of football. Ryan is an inspirational presence on the sidelines for everyone. My dad nominated Ryan for the "Rudy Award," a national search and scholarship for an outstanding young football player and leader. Please follow the link below and you can read about Ryan and vote for him!
Thank you so much for helping to do something positive for this amazing young man, our dear Ryan Anderson #79.
If you have time, you can read the articles written on Ryan by the Cleveland Plain Dealer and a few other local media outlets (the link to the articles are attached to his nomination). Also, watch the video that is attached to his nomination- it is awesome!!
@ April 1, 2011 10:35 AM in Oldest Boiler Contest2 boilers were just taken out of service the end of February this year.
I heard a rumor several years ago that a state boiler inspector had informed the operator that they were the oldest coal fired boilers still in operation east of the Mississippi River.
They were installed in 1902. The County has pictures of them being delivered on horse drawn wagons.
They are still in the boiler house, I will see if I can get some pictures.
Courthouse is under restoration & steam is being replaced with geothermal water source heatpumps. :-(

@ August 3, 2009 10:38 AM in I must be Monday! Wall hung toilet has....John This appears to be either a Zurn 1283 or 1285 wood stud supported carrier. If memory serves, I did install one of these several years ago. They are supplied with a plastic pipe flange, but this piece is not intregal to the carrier. From your description it appears a bronze flange was substituted & installed into the 3" copper tee. In other words the flange was not supplied with the carrier, but works fine for this type as opposed to the other carriers that have cast iron barrells, face plates & plastic couplings. www.zurn.com I hope this helps.
