@ June 13, 2014 6:44 AM in Union installation on 2.5"why cant you cut a section of pipe out before it drops to the return then go to the last tee and cut and kafer the remaining nipple from tee.Insatall new tee with vent and use 2 sets of flanges to re pipe.Hard to explain, out of the last tee use a nipple with flange. From the last 90 before it drops use another nipple with flange.Measure distance between two flanges and get nipple with another set of flanges made up then work it into place.Hope it makes sense.

@ June 8, 2014 7:40 AM in Typical venting for high-efficiency wall-hung boilers?I think we have all learned over the years about venting mod/cons.Unless stated by manufacturer polypropelyne is your best bet.If you are using chimney as a chase I like to use centrotherm.
@ June 7, 2014 7:50 AM in gas range,no vent? You all confirmed what I was thinking.Even though not required by code where I live I had to turn down the job.Customer does not want to open a wall to vent appliance.
Again thanks for your time and input.
@ June 1, 2014 9:06 AM in One of the worst-maintained oil-fired boilers we've seenI had to quote a similar job and insisted on a bronze pump as in Dans books.Lost the job but as always great pics and beautiful work.Happy customers.? i am pretty sure you are more expensive than other companies do you have to do a whole sales pitch etc, dont mean to hijack thread.thanks

@ May 31, 2014 7:21 AM in gas range,no vent?I lived in many apartments in Bklyn and didnt have vent on stove.I have a customer who wants me to install one but I am hesitant to do it as he does not want to vent appliance.Stupid ? ,how critical is it to vent the appliance,Town codes aside,my town doesnt require it.
@ May 31, 2014 7:15 AM in Recirculating loopI posted same question a long time ago.I used Hot Rods drawing, system works a charm.Very interesting what Icesailor points out,I never worked on well water but what great advice, think this guy has a trick for everything.
@ May 31, 2014 7:09 AM in Utica vs LochinvarI have an IBC in my house and have not had any problems.Installation is the key with any of these boilers, use an indirect and get the most out of the boiler,No water heater required.
Again there are many fantastic boilers, all about installation and maintenance.
@ May 31, 2014 6:55 AM in Skim Port Drain Plug Removal AdviceIf it is a brass plug i would drill a hole through it and then with a sawzall make a cut in plug from the middle to the thread careful not to cut tapping on boiler.good luck
@ May 30, 2014 7:13 AM in Top reasons for doing business with.I agree it drives me crazy when I go through my tickets and see the difference in prices. Also dont wait for inventory to run out before ordering.Otherwise my supply houses are great and help out a lot.A good relationship is required onboth sides and i am sure supply houses have their complaints also.End of the day we should be on the same side
