Tekmar tN2

@ May 20, 2011 2:20 PM in Zone Load Synchronizing - Is it worth it?

For 8 zones, use two 313 or 314 tN2 wiring centers with four tN2 thermostats per wiring center. This will give you zone synchronization. You can add an 033 timer for setback schedules for all the zones. By adding an 070 outdoor sensor, the outdoor temperature will be displayed on all the thermostats. This can all be done without a house control.

CPVC Boiler Piping

@ March 2, 2011 2:26 PM in CPVC on heating system

I had a wholesaler sell directly to a homeowner. The homeowner called and said his boiler quit. What am I going to do about it. I told him his warranty is void and call a contractor to repipe and sell him the parts to repair it. He also made his own concentric vent!

Raypak Gas Valve

@ January 24, 2011 9:13 AM in Raypak Gas Valve

Why don't you get the gas valve from Raypak.
Manufactures often make changes to the ignition systems to have them operate properly. The ignition control, gas valve, igniter and flame sensor may need to be matched to perform properly.

Solar Webinars

@ September 24, 2010 12:03 PM in Why aren't pump stations "Pumping Away"?

Hot Rod has done some very good webinars on Solar DHW. They should be available on the Caleffi website. I think he covered this in one of the recent ones.

You need to contact your local tekmar rep or call tekmar @ 250-545-7749.
Be prepared to explain your wiring and settings. They are only as good as the information you give them.

@ April 9, 2010 10:04 AM in tekmar 269 question

Are you opening the window for temporary fresh air or is this an every day thing?
If it's everyday, then you should move the indoor sensor. It's purpose is to provide indoor temperature readings to the control to cycle the boiler.
Tekmar likes for their reps to be first contact with tech service. They do have an excellent tech service dept. You can call them by phone or send a message through their regular e-mail. It will get to the right people.

Lifecycle costs

@ March 22, 2010 3:54 PM in Modulating is it efficient?

Should we also be looking at life cycle costs?
Initial investment.
Maintenance
Replacement parts
Equipment life
I'm all in favor of energy efficiency.
But at what cost?
