TT Heat Exchangers

@ June 22, 2010 10:20 PM in Pool Question

I am glad to hear I am not the only one who is using the Triangle Tube Titanium Heat Exchangers.  I have a 35,000 gallon pool.  I have a Peerless Pinnacle which I beleive is made by Heat Transfer Products.  199,000 btu's.  The heat exchnager works great.  I have the high set point on the boiler at 170 degrees.  You need to watch sizing on the pump through the heat exchanger, high head pressure.  The system works great.  No complaints at all.  I have no problem heating my pool.  Good luck.

near boiler piping

@ April 27, 2010 9:29 PM in Whatcha Think?

Question or comment here.  I was under the impression that the manufacturers of mod/con boilers frowned on the practice of installing black pipe instead of copper for near boiler piping as it end up clogging the heat exchangers over time.  I know when piping to a system that has existing black piping that it is reccommended to install a line strainer on the return manifold to prevent heat exchangers from clogging up.  Opinions?

Thanks

Munchkin?

@ April 21, 2010 9:42 PM in Mod Con recommendation

I believe Munchkin has a floor model.  I remember installing them in the past, sometimes on boiler blocks to get some height for the condensation trap.  I think the 50M, 80M. 140M and 199M. were the floor models with the piping and gas coming off of the side.

Lennox Pulse Furnaces

@ April 20, 2010 7:48 PM in Lennox Pulse Furnaces

I just came across four (4) Lennox Pulse furnaces that are the ones that have had the heat exchanger issues.  I know as soon as I touch these, I will be owning any issues that might arise.  What experience or advise can I get about dealing with these?

Heat Recovery Ventilator?

@ April 20, 2010 7:21 PM in crazy question/crazy customer / need an answer

Would a heat recovery ventilator be a solution?  It would be running continuously and work in conjunction with her air filter and UV light.

Thanks

I am a fan of the MegaSteam for oil, but have never ran a gas burner on it.  Sounds good!
