Burnham V8 Series Boiler

@ July 30, 2010 11:28 AM in Burnham V8 Series Boiler

Hey - Burnham sent representative to test my boiler and they found that the corrosion was due to the high chloride level in my water. They offered to replace the block and all parts for free even though it was not in the warranty. It was nice to see a company that stands by their products. Keven O'Neil, North Kingstown, RI

Carbon Monoxide detectors

@ July 13, 2010 9:27 AM in Carbon Monoxide detectors

Hey - I have a few questions. My mother bought a house last year and her carbon monoxide detectors went off because of an issue with her wood stove. I heard that once the detectors go off, they need to be replaced. Is that true?? Ever since that time the detectors go off for some unknown reason. The went off last night with windows open. She has been using central air by day, but not at night. They had gone off several times and always at night. My mother is older and freaks out and can't shut them off on her own. I need simple detectors where there is an easy shut off switch. Can anyone help?? Thanks, Keven

Burnham V8 Series Boiler

@ July 9, 2010 10:34 AM in Burnham V8 Series Boiler

Thanks for all you help. I have had it serviced twice in the past 4.5 years. The chimney is clean. The boiler was put in by a licensed Burnham dealer, but I was not happy with his job. I had a plumber come in and tell me he put the oil line in wrong and had to re do it. Anyway, I live in Rhode Island and I agree that a rep from Burnham should come out, I just wanted some advice from some experienced plumbers. Burnham told me the corrosion on top of the boiler is not covered. I just want to put together a good argument, with proof, before I call back. I have 3 pics, let me know if you need more. Thanks again, Keven

Burnham V8 Series Boiler

My plumber just found corrosion on the top of my boiler block. He told me to contact Burnham because they will cover this under warranty. I called them and they said that the water in the system caused this corrosion and the warranty does not apply. Can anyone help me figure this out? My boiler is only 5 years old. She told me I could get a discount on my new Burnham boiler, but I would never buy from this company again. Thanks in advance for any help or advice. Keven
