@ February 23, 2014 12:59 PM in Tim; New IFGC QuestionI got from Lennox.
Dear Lennox Partners,
Please review the attached article from the WSSC Regulatory Services Group about Chimney Vent Restrictions taking affect December 1st in Maryland. This will restrict the use if not totally eliminate the use of Chimney Adaptor Kits for 80% Furnace installations and require a Chimney Liner instead which will likely add $1,200 to $2,500 to the cost of the job.
Please contact the WSSC Regulatory Services Group for clarification.
Attached was a PDF file That I can't copy and paste here because I don't know how. But it listed section 504.2.9 and table 504.3 and the 7 times area rule. My gut feeling is they are trying to get rid of 80% furnaces all together
@ February 22, 2014 5:05 PM in Tim; New IFGC QuestionSource was my Lennox distributor. They have basically stopped stocking the kits. I'm in the Washington DC area and I contacted my local code enforcement [WSSC] and was told they kits are only allowed on interior chimneys. I have used them on all chimneys in the past. I have a customer who refuses to believe me when I tell her she has to line her chimney. She says she hasn't heard of that. I ask her what codes she has heard of and she didn't have a answer for that, but still doesn't believe me.My local enforcers say it is new and went into effect on Nov. !st last year.

@ February 19, 2014 9:38 PM in Hydronic Air Handler in A Condo IssuesFan speed should lower the discharge temp which should make for a longer run cycle. I guess I would start by lowering the fan speed and that should quite the unit down

@ February 16, 2014 5:32 PM in Automatic vent dampenerWith tinman. Most of those dampers have 5 wires. Ground, 24v open and 24v close. The other two are the wires you need to jumper. Look at the motor and eliminate the ones going to the motor and the other two are what you want. But as you know be sure it all goes off when you shut it down at the stat.
@ February 11, 2014 8:09 PM in Condenser changeWas probably stuck some where. Why was the unit changed out? Was it a leaker was the system full of moisture? Maybe some crud in the piston and it shot into the coil. If it ain't broke now forget about it.
@ February 10, 2014 11:37 PM in NTI Ti100Maybe? But why is it only firing for 4 mins? Try shuting off the main power supply for about 10 mins and restarting. If that dosen't work call NTI.
