@ May 5, 2013 7:55 PM in Suction line frosting??To differ. A properly charged and running A/C system with no low ambient control running at out door temps at 70* F or below will most definitley have bubbles in the SG.
@ May 5, 2013 7:46 PM in Suction line frosting??You assume 10*f super heat when the system is not performing properly?
@ May 3, 2013 5:01 PM in What the best leak detector for r410aThat I would get a little more chatter on this subject but be that as it may, I told my troubles to the good folks at Inficon and they sent me a replacement cell and new battery free of charge. I will let you know if the results are better, the battery is a upgrade, not the same as what came with my leak detector.
@ May 3, 2013 11:10 AM in Suction line frosting??Will go to where the pressure is lowest. Usually the coldest spot.
@ May 3, 2013 11:07 AM in Suction line frosting??Pressure control to cycle the condenser fan is enough for your issue. I doubt you will run the unit over night during cooler weather. Hard start is also a good idea. Another way is whats called a motor master control which slows down the fan instead of a on off type but they are much more expensive. Is it possible the people in the other area are cold and shut their air flow off? You could have up to a 4-5# pressure drop in 40 ' of line. Which means your coil could be clear but your lines at the compressor frosted. Was it frost or ice.
@ May 3, 2013 8:22 AM in ideal temp to check A/CTo block the outdoor coil inlet. Not really do-able with the top dischars units. Worked ok in the old side discharge days.
@ May 3, 2013 8:18 AM in Suction line frosting??Is the piping run? I think 70* outdoor is a little low to run a A/C unit all day long with out any low ambient controls. Does this unit serve only your office or others as well? Never assume the filters is clean, never.
@ May 3, 2013 8:07 AM in insulating type B vent pipeWe have the 1 1/2 times rule which means you can run 6" vent 9' horizonal and 4"
6' h. So seems to be your way over the max and it should have never passed
@ May 3, 2013 7:55 AM in Suggestions for frustrated and confused homeownerDo with the body of the electrocuted plumber?
@ May 2, 2013 8:35 AM in ideal temp to check A/CThe grass is still wet with dew on account of it being 70% rh and my kness get wet. Not really ideal, unless it's late in the afternoon and the unit is on the southside of the house and we have a breeze.
@ May 1, 2013 10:31 PM in Question regarding boiler sizing and IDWThe 110 turns down to 30K his stated load was 57k. I personally think the TT60's are to small for a quick recovery on your indirect.
@ May 1, 2013 10:15 PM in ideal temp to check A/CSo that would be 92*f @ 70%rh. Thank you and good night.
@ May 1, 2013 11:23 AM in Question regarding boiler sizing and IDWThe triangle Tube 110. That will heat the ID quickly and and keep you nice and cozy.
@ May 1, 2013 10:53 AM in subcoolSight glass on start up, on a hot day with a big load on the evap you are over charged. I don't normally use a sight glass on A/C mostly refrig. systems. I chagre to sub cool after a pull down and the evap tep at or less then 40* F. So there you have it 9 different ways and they all work.

@ April 30, 2013 11:37 AM in ball busterDropped a" a little " how much is that 195# 175#? Did you purge with the nitrogen first and then pressurize or just press. when there was still air in the system. Maybe if it was the latter that may explain the little drop.
@ April 29, 2013 10:57 PM in Possible To Move Gas Furnace & Water Tank To Different Location? To move everything. You have to move duct work or piping, flue, gas line, electric ect. Flue length has limitations. Or you have to by new equipment that is direct vented. better off working around it.
@ April 29, 2013 10:51 PM in separate boiler/system pump required? It's a 70k boiler. Spend the extra money on a pump and P/S the piping and sleep like a baby.

@ April 29, 2013 10:38 PM in What the best leak detector for r410aI have the de-tec select and not real happy with it.
@ April 29, 2013 10:36 PM in ball busterLeaked at your gauges. Temp will have no effect on the nitrogen. You had to open them when you did the soldering for the 2 pressure test and I'm sure when you re pressurized you made sure they were on good and tight.
