@ March 21, 2013 9:05 AM in FITTERTheres a chart for that. Max BTU's for chimney area sq. ".
@ March 21, 2013 8:43 AM in Just Don't Get Modcon Boiler Pump Charts! That you think the feed water line is teed into the return, it's not. There is no dot on the drawing. The water will enter the bottom of the big air bleed go through the pump through the zone out the purge vale. Look also where the supply goes to the indirect, that is not a four way tee, no dot there.
I see it now. No return ball valve. Missed it last night and this morning , sometimes I have to look three times.

@ March 11, 2013 2:00 PM in new boiler. new construction. anyone ever have this? flame rolling outIs a long time in a dirty atmosphere. Most manufactures state not to run equipment during construction.
@ March 10, 2013 11:28 PM in Vacation Home Heat Pump setting when awayA beach house with a 2 ton heat pump. Installed also I think in 1999. We are away as long as 3 months at a time. I keep mine set at 42*F. We have outdoor senser so the electric heat won't run unless it's below 30*F. The only problem is it takes a good long while to heat the place back up and I bypass my outdoor senser when we go down in the winter untill the house is up to temp. But hey thats what bars are for. Electric bill for the time when we are away for a few months normally around $30.00 $40.00 bucks. Now my HP is a hi eff. with both indoor and outdoor TXV. The only thing I have done to that unit was change a run cap last summer.
@ March 10, 2013 11:17 PM in Water heater out of warranty?!Is what it is. If its 6 years its 6 years, power or no power. I would call the factory or go over the counter guys head. If that fails tell the customer that the manufacturer has refused to honor their warranty and call the customer service line or local consumer affairs guy. This kinda stuff burns me up. We have no control over how the customer uses his equipment.
@ March 10, 2013 11:05 PM in Stupid call backs...That top of the stairs switch call many times. I tell the customer that a small problem is better then a big problem like a gas valve or a blower motor and that normally calms them down. And of course there's always the little old lady who wants a programmable thermostat because they save energy and she wants to do her part to help out and one week later she wants her old round Honeywell back.
@ March 9, 2013 4:10 PM in Looking for feedbackAnd higher efficiency get the government the hell out of the picture. They have already needlessly doubled the cost of a standard water heater with the stupid air baffle design. Now most areas are requiring a extrol tank, add another couple hundred dollars. We are supposed to be in the year I think that only 90% furnaces were to be allowed to be produced but that was thankfully pushed back. People can flat not afford higher efficieant equipment, if they could it would be we would sell. I just read a post from a lady who was having a hard time coming up with $600.00 just to repair her furnace. And don.t get me started on the cost of R-22.
@ March 9, 2013 11:05 AM in Control Module Replacement Compatibility QuestionA bad pump. Hard to belive no zone valves open.

@ March 8, 2013 4:09 PM in do u know what this is?Finned tube coil,.air would blow over the solar loop and then transfer heat to the other loop for what., Why not just use a tank?
@ March 8, 2013 11:29 AM in do u know what this is?A big two circuit coil.I can't figure out what heat he would be recovering from the water and doing what with it. Not like outside air in and inside air out heat exchange. Also there is only one set of pipes going to the coil. I think its just a big ole chilled water coil.
