@ July 15, 2014 3:18 PM in Lochinvar ignition troubleRemove the ignition cable from transformer on the board. Attempt to fire the unit. If the spark does not jump to the grounding post replace the board. If it does make the jump. Check the gap on your igniter. After that move towards valve adjustments ect.
@ January 18, 2014 3:28 PM in Lochinvar Knight XL - KNB600Make sure the cap on the igniter is correct 1/8" should do. If you are sparking and not igniting you may want to access the board and remove the ignition wire from the transformer and attempt to the fire the unit. If you do not see a spark jump to the grounding post, you have a failing ignition transformer. They are integrated into the board, so you will need to replace the board.
@ December 29, 2013 6:14 PM in Lochinvar Knight, WBN106, Gas Relay Valve FaultFirst check your neutral to the unit, make sure the neutral is dedicated to the unit, and that it is a good neutral. Second check your transformer voltage in and out. Make sure you have no voltage backfeeding to the low voltage board. If all that is fine, pull the low voltage board, if the back of the board is burned replace the low voltage board and the wiring harness. Check the main board for any damages as well. The rep should have sent you a new harness not have you put a dialectic compound on It.
@ November 6, 2013 9:24 PM in Lochinvar Knight KBN 399 Heat Exchanger FailureI deal with the giannoni heat exchangers a lot. Especially in armor sand knights, I service one property that has 50+ of them. I have never seen one fail like that. Could there be a refrigerant leak nearby? (Edit) at first I said no way on 9000 for the heat exchanger for a kbn399. Just checked the pricing that's about right.
