Yes I,m oversized by about 40% ...Good Eyes for seeing this,Panels are 30 deg off tru south and tilt is 55 deg for my latitude of 45 deg N. I wanted the extra BTU,s in the spring and fall for supplimental heating that I do not have in place yet. Panels heat great at any outdoor temp of course...Also my above average water usage gives me quicker payback on such a system Paul@ March 17, 2006 1:01 PM in Solar Collectors
Tank (120 gal.)climbing past 160 deg and its 1;00pm I'll send a pic shortly. Paul@ March 17, 2006 12:18 PM in Solar Collectors
Love my solarmaxs'...Paul@ March 15, 2006 5:33 AM in Wood Furnaces
A wood boiler that smokes most of the day is Not efficient...and a low temperature outdoor wood boiler is not as well Testing /certification in Canada found them to be from 25% to 50 % at best with most being nearer the lower percentile... And the poor neighbor that lives downwind of the thing. Thats why around here they are being nicknamed a Steam Engine ...Paul@ March 11, 2006 9:49 AM in New Solar Brakethough
As with heating the same old applies to electricity in this nation, conservation first then efficiency and they wont have to build any more reactors... unfortunately we need to get to some sort of crisis mode before people and politicians wake up and get real...Paul@ March 10, 2006 11:41 AM in New Solar Brakethough
Maybe 300 watts since its 1.5 sq. meters and 20 % efficient...Paul@ March 8, 2006 10:26 AM in Solar Hot Water Heater
Re solar : don't be misled by lots of solar output in the winter IF you have poor sun you will get peanuts for heat and you will be disappointed and therefore dissatisfied...PaulGFX

Brad ...Where did you get the pdf of the winnepeg data I'm interested in wind data for my area Paul@ February 16, 2006 2:46 PM in Runtal Radiators
Can you get me the part numbers for this configuation as in your picture ..including the TRV part numbers . thanks Paul@ February 2, 2006 8:12 AM in Log Home Infiltration
you'll probably develop leaks over time vs. bettter sealing. . One experianced log builder told me sooner or later your going to have to chink here or there. So there is to most air leaks of course. Paulmanifold location preferance

Is there a prefered location to have the (Pro's and Cons)radiant supply and return manifold higher or lower than a wall mounted boiler?????
