@ March 27, 2012 7:26 PM in Triangle Tube Trimax

Thank you all for the responses! Beautiful job Brian! Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the new control I can have a 160* zone for copper bb and another 120* zone for radiant without a mixing valve? I'd just need two circs?

Triangle Tube Trimax

Hi Wallies, has anyone used the new Triangle Tube boiler with the Trimax control? Would you mind giving some feedback?

Thanks, Adam

@ March 3, 2012 10:58 PM in Gas piping outside?

I disagree!!!!!!!! Weber natural gas grills come with a quick connect coupling that has 3/8" threads, not 1/2". Call Weber and they'll tell you: 800-466-1071

What are the changes and/or upgrades from the old version? Is there a price difference?

New TT Prestige!?

@ January 7, 2012 9:26 PM in New TT Prestige!?

I saw an ad in the new P&M mag for the new TT Prestige with a new display touting "new venting options". Anyone know when they'll be available? Any more details?

Gas Conversion Burner

@ December 20, 2011 10:35 PM in Gas Conversion Burner

Hi Wallies,
Not familiar with power burners to convert an oil fired boiler to gas. Anyone have any suggestions for brand names? Boiler is a Weil McLain PWG04 Series # with a 1.2gph nozzle, 126000btu in. I thought this might be a better idea than replacing the boiler as I'd assume it would be cheaper. Customer wants to sell the property and wants to spend as little as possible.
Thanks in advance, Adam

Pilot adjustment!

@ September 18, 2011 6:11 PM in Pilot adjustment!

Hi Wallies,

Anyone able to send me a link to adjust the pilot on a Honeywell VR8200H1004 gas valve? It's on a Utica HW boiler. Existing pilot flame is way too big.

Thanks in advance, Adam

Unit heater- gas

@ February 7, 2011 1:12 PM in Unit heater- gas

Hi Wallies,
We have to install a chimney vented unit heater in a rental apartment. It must be about 25,000 btus, chimney vented and use no electric. Any ideas or preferences? I found the Empire RH-25 that fits the bill, but wondering if anyone has other suggestions. Money is an object!
Thanks, Adam

Waterbug

@ January 23, 2011 7:21 PM in water alarms

The WB200 Waterbug from Winland will fit the bill. You would just need a power supply with backup battery, easy and readily available.

@ January 3, 2011 8:12 PM in Replace jacket insulation

this company from Long Island, NY, to order some fiberglass pipe insulation for a steam boiler we fixed. Their prices were great and they also make custom insulation blankets for boilers! Very helpful bunch of people and very good pricing:

@ December 25, 2010 6:42 PM in Metal Cutting Saw's O.T.

I bought  Milwaukee 6190-20 cold cut saw about two years ago and love it! I bought it online for about $350. I don't recall from where though. The cuts are perfect and smooth. I still prefer my abrasive cutoff saw for PVC though.

@ December 23, 2010 2:59 PM in Anyone recommmend a SIMPLE programmable thermostat?

The Honeywell VISIONPro 8000 is the only thermostat we use. It's extremely easy to program and you also see both the target temp as well as the actual temp at all times.

Two pipe steam question

@ December 16, 2010 5:36 PM in Two pipe steam question

Hi Wallies,
I quickly looked at the two pipe steam system of my friend today. The rads are taking a long time to heat up and some were still cold with the boiler having been on for over an hour. I'm very experienced troubleshooting one pipe steam, but almost never deal with two pipe steam. Can I assume that the first places to look are the individual steam traps as well as the main vents? Any other quick advice?

Thanks as always, Adam

I'm planning on buying one of their jackets and adding a Gorton #2 under each arm for when I really work up a sweat.

Hi Tim,

I know we've never met or spoken, but regardless, I feel a part of the Wall family. I also appreciate all of the things I've learned from you over the years and all that you do for us. I can't even imagine the pain and frustration. I hope you'll start to see daily improvement. My prayers are with you. May you have a complete and speedy recovery.

@ November 16, 2010 6:07 PM in Taco 2006 EBV Zone Valves

FWIW, I believe that Taco had its share of problems with the EBV series. About to hit the shelves any minute, if they haven't already, are the Zone Sentry zone valves that have been completely reengineered. They will replace the EBV series. Additional good news is that there are new Zone Sentry heads available that are backward compatible with the old EBV valves. I'd call Taco to be sure that will solve your issue. I've never dealt with a more responsible company. Good luck, Adam

@ November 16, 2010 5:53 PM in Digital Water Temperature control

If you don't like the ETC option you can get one of these at an alarm supply house and add a 110V relay for the circ:

@ November 16, 2010 5:46 PM in Quick TT indired question

Hi Jimbo,
Your description seems backwards, but if I understand corectly you want to work on the DHW with no pressure on it while the outer (boiler water) tank is full, right? That's no problem. The only scenario warned against in the manual is filling the boiler section of the tank before the DHW. If you're still not 100%, call TT tech support and confirm.
