I was trying to use some Taco pump flanges of the 3/4 sweat type on some 007 pumps,, they didn't seem readily available are they? Anybody else using them? I know the flange valve is really popular with the checks and all. But i just wanted something simple .gathering info

I am gathering some of that info when i get it together i will post up.XTank, Pump, Spirovent..>_>
@ June 17, 2011 7:56 AM in Expansion tank Pipe size...Q"Q ?
Alright so the pump location is by the book,As far as the air side pressure of the tank we matched the system operating pressure when it was installed,
Greg I am not sure of these,, I did 6 or 7 boilers rooms this past winter all of em were twin Knights with indirects, 5 boiler rooms developed a weeping relief. The tanks I am sure are slightly over sized, And i would guess that the temp was around 160-180 for making the DHW, Not sure of the system volume all the systems are baseboard fin-tube in apartment buildings.
Clammy I did have a vent on 1 of the spirovents do the dribble thing immeditly upon start up I pulled that unit apart did see anything that was alarming I had to replace it no dirt on notin just a leaky vent..
I am thinking the gauge we were using to set the air side of the tanks is now being heavily scrutinized, as well as the method.
It was always my understanding that the 1/2 was appropriate.

I got some newly installed systems all with same issue, Being the reliefs all seem to weep, but not at the 30lbs.Some of the techs think the expansion tank line size is to small. These are new installed Knight boilers not very large not to small. The tanks are sized properly that's been checked. The line connecting them to the spirovent is 1/2 copper.
Anyway pls comment on the expansion tank line sizing.
Thanks Guys I been lurking for a while now. Haven't posted in a couple years.

I saw this it must be the longest I have come across at least 25' And I found this brand new pipe job the other day, Its one of those copper fin boilers with the pump on the header opposite the pipe connections, HELLO!PVI

Anyone ever install or work on a PVI, any experience here?Dogs!

I say "Yes I am please put the dog away." Then I tell them it was my dog that attacked me and ever since dogs and me don't mix. It was a terrier and chow mix, blue spotted tongue. It bit me five times I had blood squirting out of my hand like a movie. It was ugly. So I don't care if its a small rat sized dog, it needs to be put away for me to enter the place. The only dog I am comfortable with is my parents dog, he has been around from before the attack. Thanks again

Can you sketch out the rest of the manifolding ( supply and return)? How many feet to the highest pipe? vertical rise? I have seen these things before. Piped in this way the pump at the boiler return was keeping a large header hot and keeping the flow through the boiler. I see some three way valves, if all the three way valves are stroked closed to the boiler supply then the boiler may not have the flow it needs. good luck
