Pressure, flow, Pump

@ February 6, 2007 8:33 PM in Boiler Tripping, need suggestions (incl. link to video)

Why is the pressure 50 psi.? A flow switch is not a valve it is a electrical switch that is on the pipes. It has a paddle in the flow of water, when the water moves it pushes the paddle and closes the switch. Typically this switch ensures water is moving in and out of the boiler therefore allowing the burner to lite. Can you take pics of your piping layout? Pump

@ February 5, 2007 7:49 PM in Boiler Tripping, need suggestions (incl. link to video)

The pump for the boiler must run when the burner is on. There should be a flow switch to ensure flow. To Learn More About This Professional, Click Here to Visit Their Ad in "Find A Professional"

Pump curves

@ January 30, 2007 11:07 PM in Pump curves

It has happened three times now, where I need to reference a pump curve to help the trouble shooting process. I would like a Taco book that is a small pocket size book(not a binder) And containing just the basics models#, curves, h.p. I need this exact thing today my father calls me and say very bluntly "can you tell me if this pump is moving enough water?" I say yes and he tells me the pipe length and the pump size and HP which was a Taco120 1/12HP and I say no problem I am never in the office so the Taco binder is not there so I call the supply house and I get what I need, but if I had a pocket reference there would be no need to bother my buds at the supply house.
